Beware. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS GYM. First it is expensive. You will find better gyms around for less than what Brick Haus will charge you. Second its pretty tough to get out of the contract. They will politely threaten you to send your account to collections if you cancel your credit card. They are friendly only when you sign up. After that everything is your problem. They don't let you know in advance that once your contact ends they will keep charging you.

I love Brick Haus! I go there to work out and I don't feel like I have to get all dolled up and have to compete with my looks and I am not embarrased to sweat....

I'm not sure why so many people are upset about the membership policies. ANY gym you go to will have the same restrictions - advance notice, proof of address change, etc. This is the norm. Read the contract you signed. As for prices, maybe if it were in the suburbs or the midwest it would be considered expensive, but given the location and quality, this place is a steal. When I moved to the area about 4 years ago, I shopped hard for a gym. Brick Haus beat the competition by a landslide. Between prices, classes, hours, cleanliness, and all-around customer service, nowhere else compared. I've been a member since the beginning and plan on remaining one until I move out of the area.

Accounting system is a little messed up here, but the staff is great, and communication has always been great too. I've tried few other gyms around but kept coming back to Brick Haus. It's clean, well equipped, not crowded, awesome people. You just need to find "your" gym. It's not the cheapest gym around, but if you do work out regularly, you will feel you're getting your money's worth. So far this is my favorite place to be in Jersey City.

This is an OK gym, but it's when they screw up that you really need to know what will happen. They messed up my billing - apparently billed the wrong account for three months, not sure whose account it was, but it wasn't mine - and then put in a charge to cover the three months they had missed. Fine. Then they charged for the next month. Fine. AND THEN whoever's account they charged objected and they got chargebacks, and based on that they terminated my membership. Right. I'm serious. Never mind that I was PAID IN FULL because of that three-months charge that went through. NEVER MIND that my bank confirmed that neither those three charges nor the chargebacks were made against my account. And now they say that even though I was paid in full, and they terminated me, that I owe for the rest of the contract. She called me a liar and was unable to do the basic math to see that I was paid up. All she could say was "chargeback! chargeback! chargeback!". I guess if you're one of the owners no one can fire you for incompetence. It's only a little bit more money to find a gym that doesn't treat customers this way.

I have been a member of Brick Haus for more than 6 months now. The gym is fantastic with top of the line equip. cool instructors and always clean. Due to work issues, I have recently relocated and I had to submit my cancellation. Let me tell you, it was not a drag like some people say. I submitted my notice from work, my change of address and new lease(yes after I moved), which my membership clearly states that I needed. And done! I have been a member of several gym over the years and without a doubt, Brick Haus is the one I will miss.
