Local Funeral Director scoops award after attaining highest grades in the country
Paul Shoobridge of Shoobridge Funeral Services wins the ‘Ashes into Glass Award’ after achieving the highest grades in the recent completion of his BIFD Diploma in Funeral Service.
The directors of the local family firm based in Honiton and Exeter are proud to congratulate Paul on being awarded the, the gold standard professional qualification presented by the British Institute of Funeral Directors as well as the prestigious ‘Ashes into Glass Award’, celebrating his highest scoring results.
Independent Family Funeral Director, Paul collected his award on Saturday 24th October at  the BIFD’s Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony.
David Gresty, National President of BIFD remarked “I am delighted to have presented Paul, not only with his Diploma in Funeral Service, but also the ‘Ashes into Glass Award’ for attaining the highest grades throughout the country. He is a credit to himself, the profession and our Institute.”
As a result of his fantastic performance during his studies, Paul becomes one of only a handful of people to scoop the ‘Ashes into Glass Award’, something the family firm is delighted to announce. 
 ‘This is the industry’s biggest individual honour, and we are all thrilled for Paul to have scooped this award for all of his work and efforts’, said Penny, funeral director at the family firm.
Paul adds, ‘It’s been a challenge studying while working full time, but when you love something and enjoy something as much as I enjoy working for the family business, helping local families through their time of need and supporting them through their loss, you make time to make it work.’. 
Terry Shoobridge of Shoobridge Funeral Services and Paul’s father added “To say we are proud of Paul and his achievements would be the biggest understatement possible. That he combines determination, dedication and care towards our clients, Logistical expertise whilst maintaining his own, young family life is simply amazing. He is a credit to us, his parents and Shoobridge Funeral Services. 

National Tutor at BIFD, David Parslow also celebrates Paul’s achievements by adding ‘Fantastic news, Paul. You have the highest qualification available to the funeral profession, of which you are one of only a handful of people in the whole country who have obtained this prestigious award.’
