Last year Delaware and Franklin Counties together added more residents than the state as a whole. MORPC's data & mapping director Nancy Reger weighs in on demographic trends that explain the phenomenon.
Franklin County residents have been busy making kids. The county recorded almost 18,200 births in 2013, by far the most in the state. That’s 15.2 births for every 1,000 people who lived here in 2012, a rate second only to that in Holmes County in Amish country, according to new population estimates released today by the Census Bureau.

Working to Build a Better Region
Introduction

MORPC is the place where visions and ideas about our growing region are created, designed, discussed, and embraced. We are a voluntary association of local governments serving central Ohio. A catalyst for regional change, evidence of our work is seen everyday through planning, programming and public policy in the areas of economic development, energy, environment, housing, transportation and land use.
