The food is amazing. Can't wait to go back. My wife had the French toast and could not stop raving about the flavor. She also loved the bacon. I had the sweet potato hash which I loved. I got the large portion. The regular portion would have been plenty, but it did not stop me from eating it all

Got a breakfast plate, really tasty and high quality food. A bit on the pricier side, but the great service and nice atmosphere make it a reasonable outing.

I love 24 Diner's philosophy and attempts to source local-- the menu takes simple diner items and incorporates inventive and local flavors to achieve food perfection. The decor is also like a diner but brought into the 21st century. As for the food, I dunno how they did it but I swear the squash & zucchini veggie of the day I had a few days ago was TO. DIE. FOR. best summer vegetables I've ever had. My grilled cheese was also fantastic, from the sourdough to the 2 types of cheese to the marinated tomatoes on the inside. GET A MILKSHAKE also. Because those are so thick and creamy you won't regret it (if milkshakes are your kind of thing). The service was also really good, and we even had a manager (?) come up to us during our meal to make sure everything was just like we wanted. They obviously care about the community and their customers (and their customers' tastebuds)!

Really can't go wrong here. Top-of-the-line comfort food, perfect for a late night. Service was prompt and the booths are large.

I come to Austin from San Antonio on a semi-regular basis just to eat, and there's so many good choices. Picking a new place is always a risk, but it paid off with 24 Diner. I love that the food is from within 200 miles, and it shows. The wifey tried the fried chicken and waffles. While the fried chicken was fairly tasty and moist (notwithstanding being boneless and skinless), the waffle stole the show. It had a sourdough quality without being sourdough (due to the yeast), and it truly had a savory, unique flavor. Using real grade A maple syrup and butter elevated the deliciousness as you would expect. As for me, I ordered a lunch/dinner entree of the fried bone-in pork chop with jalapeno cream gravy and scallion butter, roasted red potatoes and green beans. This dish really showcased fresh ingredients as the green beans were perfect and the roasted red potatoes were perfectly roasted with a moderate herb taste. Both of the veggies were light and herby, which balanced the richness of the heavy protein. The star, of course, was the pork chop. Not only was it moist but also it had a herb taste as if it had been brined for 24-48 hours in a salty herb solution. The batter was crispy, thick without being too thick, and delicious in its own right. And then you had a true cream gravy (more sauce than gravy, which is fine with me) where the richness of dairy merged with the heat of jalapeno. The scallion butter and chopped scallions atop the pork chop only added to the depth of flavor. I would say, even accounting for other pork chops I've eaten that are simply grilled and simply seasoned, this pork chop is easily one of the top 5 I've ever eaten. The execution of each part was done well and the layers of flavor were complex, very savory, and ultimately satisfying. In short, 24 Diner is a place I want to visit again. And again. The food is extremely fresh, and the dishes are elevated diner cuisine without any pretension. It's just great.

My boyfriend and I went one night and were so excited about the idea of having locally grown food & thought it was awesome to support the local community. I very much regret it. I had ordered the cheddar burger with fries. The fries seemed undercooked. What really upset me was my burger. It tasted like how burned black-cat fireworks smell. I hated it. The wait staff were very slow too. For the price of the food and everything, it is NOT worth it.

The food is amazing but my husband and I were more impressed with the customer service that the General manager provided. He was very attentive w all of the clients and the staff is very kind and friendly. We will be going back next time we are in town.
