It was an absolutely unbelievable experience. They utilize the most exotic combinations of flavors and ingredients ever assembled. It truly is a once in a lifetime experience. Too bad we have to travel more than 2000 miles to do it again! Do not travel to Austin and not stop at the "Lick" ... WOW In a world where you get what you pay for... You will certainly get your monies worth here.

Review is for the San Antonio location @ Pearl. The Pearl is a really fun area for a night out though the Lick is just a simple shop with a couple of table and about a dozen flavors. The flavors are all so unique and I appreciate that the ingredients all come from local growers. The ice cream itself is very rich and has more of a homemade texture rather than perfectly creamy. Prices are reasonable. My favorites were: - Texas Sheet Cake - Goat Cheese, Thyme, and Honey - Caramel Salt Lick Others that were interesting: - Cilantro Lime - Too Hot Chocolate (think spicy) - Roasted Beets and Fresh Mint - Dark Chocolate w Olive Oil and Sea Salt For an interesting tasting experience, definitely try ice cream from Lick.

Lick is the best! I crave their ice cream on a weekly basis. The line can get very long but it's definitely worth the short wait. I tend to never stray far from my few favorites. I love the Texas sheetcake, pecan praline, and the spicy chocolate! Order it in a waffle cone and enjoy while you take a short stroll down south Lamar or sit outside on the curb. Great after dinner spot or when you're craving something delicious and sweet!

I love love love this ice cream. I don't always eat ice cream but when I do, I have to try all the bazaar flavors from lick. I first started with goat cheese, thyme and honey and I am forever hooked! Must try!

While slightly pricey, you are definitely paying for the quality you get! This gourmet ice cream is possibly the best you'll ever taste. My absolute favorite is the goat cheese, thyme, and honey combined with the dark chocolate olive oil and sea salt. There's no better tasting ice cream around Austin so do yourself a favor and drive over to Lick!

This place has awesome inventive flavors and delicious standards (dark chocolate with sea salt). They have a seasonal menu that changes- my favorite was grapefruit with champagne marshmallows- and it's super tasty. Go in and try a few that don't sound good and I promise you'll be blown away. We always take our visiting friends and family here and the staff are super patient letting us try a bunch of flavors.

This place is sooooo good! I have gone a flavor joy ride here and have had my proverbial tastebud mind blown! This review is for tastings over the span of several visits. I will start with the musts! -Strawberry Basil (ridiculous delish!) -Orange Chocolate (also redic-delish!) The weird, but surprisingly good! -Grapefruit Ginger -Goat Cheese, Thyme, and Honey -Caramelized Carrots & Tarragon On the fence, will need to try again to decide "yay!" or "nay" -Coconut & Avocado Curd (non-dairy/vegan option) -Roasted Beets and Fresh Mint -Cilantro Lime Looking forward to going back again soon and blowing my tastebuds' hair back!

Lick Ice Cream is decent--maybe above average--in terms of consistency and general ice creamness, but in terms of flavors, it's the best I've come across. They'll have some fairly-standard good flavors, such as Mexican Chocolate, but also plenty of unique, weird-but-good flavors, featuring combinations such as goat cheese, thyme, and honey, or cilantro and lime. Some of them sound gross, but they're all actually delicious (unless you have the cilantro-tastes-like-soap gene, in which case all but that one are delicious). The vegan selection is small, but notable for the fact that they have a vegan selection, and doubly-so for still including weird awesome flavors. Coconut and avocado curd? Hell yes! In addition to the standard normal and standard weird flavors, they have seasonal flavors that pop up throughout the year, so it's essential that you visit often. Seems there's a sweet potato flavor right now that I have yet to try. The people there are super nice, even when you try half a dozen flavors before choosing one, or two, or three (because, really, who sticks to just one when you have choices like these?) Also, you can quickly earn a free cone by using your punch card, unless you're like me and forget it at home every time, resulting in a dozen half-filled punch cards sitting in a drawer. The ingredients are locally sourced (at least to a reasonable extent), so that's nice. The only thing that isn't perfect about Lick is that parking is limited, but you'll find a spot, and any frustration from that task will quickly be forgotten from the shock of sampling beet and mint ice cream and discover beets can actually taste good.
