These gull species scavenge as well as seek suitable prey. They hover over water and take the prey near the water surface. They make shallow dives to catch prey. These gulls poke in wet grounds for invertebrates, especially earthworms. They scavenge at garbage dumps and fish plants.

Great snipe images
http://indianbirds.thedynamicnature.com/
Males perform courtship displays in a gathering of males known as 'leks'. The performance begins at dusk.
The male great snipes rattle their bills and make continuous clicking noises. They also stretch into a upright position and puff out their breasts. They raise and fan their tails exposing the white feathers.
