ALE’s Iraq branch has been awarded the Karbala Refinery Project contracts on behalf of several different clients.

The scopes of work includes the hire of approximately 50 crawler, rough terrain and mobile cranes, the execution of heavy lifting operations, as well as the heavy transportation of approximately 45 oversized items, weighing up to 250t each.

Talisman Sinopec, an oil and gas exploration and production company, has informed that the topside for its Montrose bridge-linked platform (BLP) has been loaded on Heerema’s barge. According to Talisman Sinopec, the 10,500 tons Montrose BLP topside was loaded on the barge at the Zwijndrecht yard in The Netherlands.

Heerema Fabrication Group’s Zwijndrecht yard started the construction of the integrated production Montrose BLP topsides in March 2013. At the time, the topside was planned to be completed for load out in April 2015. The topside is meant for Montrose Area Redevelopment (MAR) project, located in the UK North Sea, where Talisman Sinopec Energy UK is the operator with a working interest of 58.97%, and Marubeni Oil & Gas (U.K.) is its sole partner.

April 8 - West of Scotland Heavy Haulage has taken delivery of a Manoovr trailer and a four-axle wind blade trailer from Nooteboom, alongside two new Mercedes-Benz Arocs tractor units. The Scottish heavy haulier's new Manoovr low loader trailer has a 100-tonne capacity and features an adjustable platform height from 920 mm to 780 mm, as well as unique suspension and a 70 degree steering angle. It has an axle load of 12 tonnes per axle and a lowbed that can be extended from 12 m to 30.35 m.
