Ordered a Bianca pizza tonight and asked the guy who took the order on the phone to please add tomatoes and make sure they are "sliced" not "diced". I reiterated that I wanted them sliced and not diced and he said he'd be sure to tell the cook and thanked me for clarifying. I showed up to pick up the pizza and the cook tells me he made it with diced! Here is where it gets ugly: He tells me he's not going to remake it and he could throw some sliced tomatoes on top and he's "just not gonna pick off the tomatoes". I never asked him to. I told him that was unacceptable and I'd like the pizza how I ordered it. He just told me sorry and he wouldn't remake it. I've been going to this place for years and their customer service skills have always been terrible, but the food has been good. I told them tonight to just keep the pizza, and their response was "no problem". I come from a place where the customer is always right and you do whatever it takes to please and keep their business. I'll be sure to tell all my friends and family who go there about my experience, and I guarantee they will not return. Hey Papa Joes, you're not the only pizza joint on the block! Learn how to treat your customers! Went down the street to Venus Pizzeria and had a totally different experience. Was offered a complimentary drink while I waited and the pizza was amazing. I hope this review helps anyone considering a pizza restaurant in the Altamonte Springs area. I used to eat at Papa Joes Lake Mary locations as well, but NEVER again!

Delicious Old School New York Style Pizza! Everything made fresh to order, quality ingredients, brought to your table piping hot. They make everyone feel comfortable, as if you're walking into an Italian home. We are now New regulars!

I've been getting take out from here at least once every other week for the past 4 months (Nov 2013 - Feb 2014. Two out of every 3 times, my pizza is ready when I get there & it's delicious when I get it home. They charge a reasonable price for handmade pizzas. Totally worth it. However, those times when my order isn't ready, it's a CATASTROPHE. So much that I'm giving up on Papa Joe's. I'm not one normally to complain. When I feel like I'm not being treated reasonably as a customer, I just choose to spend my money elsewhere. What happens is I've been told on the phone that the pizza will be ready in 20-25 minutes--that's reasonable. I time my arrival to be in that window, I pay, then I sit and wait. And wait. And wait. No explanation is ever given; no apology or effort made to address the situation with me. It really irks me when there's one guy in the kitchen telling me "Just one more minute"...three or four times every few minutes as I waited it out. (Don't tease me or string me along--it's MUCH better to UNDERpromise & OVERdeliver!) There just isn't a reasonable explanation for a couple of simple pizzas to take 50--fifty!--minutes to prepare and cook. It's just a wildly inconsistent experience at Papa Joe's. Again, the pizzas are quite good, although they tend to be slightly undercooked on those times when I waited and waited and waited for my order.

The pizza is good compared to other big name brand competitors in the immediate area. The sauce could use a little more seasoning. The crust was crunchy and soft in the right spots. The slices were of acceptable size but not bigger than a man's head. The tables were all clean and set. The floor needed to be swept in a few places. So I popped in looking for the delicious taste and superior quality I had just experienced a mere few days earlier on vacation up north. My plan was to sit and eat with my two little ones, whom where also craving some pizza. I decided it would be better to order takeout after not getting a greeting upon entering this establishment for the first time. No initial "hello", "how are you" nor even a robotic store greeting. Not even a smile was rendered. No one was mean but no one was warm. I'm more of a service kind of guy, even if the food is just blah. So, the pizza is acceptable for the prices they charge. If you are looking for great service, go some other place. The restaurant needed a good dusting and the lights were a little too low if you asked me, I guess to conserve energy. I asked my kids what they thought after leaving. They were split. One said the people were OK, the other said they weren't nice. They agreed that the pizza was good, but not as good as those they had eaten just days ago up north. I think the place needs more energy and more attention to detail. The pizza is fine but even that can be improved upon. I'll go back one more time to come to my final conclusion because I know people can have bad days. I also haven't tasted the dessert yet.

Just picked up an eggplant parmesan sub...perfect! Can actually see and taste eggplant, not just a mess of breadcrumbs. Great sauce and excellent bread with sesame seeds. Bravo Papa Joe!

I called today to give them a heads-up that I would be bringing 20 people tomorrow (Friday) at 4:00 p.m. The guy who answered the phone said, "No, we're too busy on Fridays." I responded, "At 4:00?" He said they were too busy at 4:00 and that I should come some other day. There is no way they are that busy at 4:00. And what type of business turns away customers like that? Unbelievable!

I have become a regular at Papa Joe's because it reminds me of the Pizza from New York/New Jersey, well worth the price and the taste is superior to any of that Franchise Garbage! Best in Seminole County, Florida by far!
