Great article from +Think with Google on "The Customer Journey To Online Purchase." Interesting to see the oral of social, email, etc. Check out the link to play around with different industries, etc.

SUMMARY/INFO:
"Assisting channels build awareness, consideration, and intent earlier in the customer journey or “purchase funnel."
"Last interaction channels act as the last point of contact prior to a purchase.

Hope the +Cal Bears can have as good of a run as Tennessee in March Madness.
#gobears #cal #tennessee
Cal hires Tennessee's Cuonzo Martin as men's basketball coach Mere minutes were all it took, in fact, for the ex-Tennessee coach to receive good news in his new job. Six years a head coach on the NCAA Division I level, the 42-year-old Martin was 63-41 in three seasons at Tennessee and before that he was 61-41 in three years at Missouri State. Despite three winning seasons, the last one culminating in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16, Martin was ...

Freezing Instagram

Running the social and digital media teams for an NHL franchise requires teamwork, planning, a willingness to listen and try something new. Good thing the +Tampa Bay Lightning  (my adopted team) have two of the best in the business in +James Royer and +Caity Kauffman.

James and Caity joined me on the latest Tuesday Ten episode. Highlights from the show:

0:48 - Intro to James and Caity
2:07 - "Social Captain" at Lightning games
4:21 - Planning strategy for the NHL season and Stanley Cup playoffs
7:13 - Using the "POST" method to decide which social platforms to use
9:36 - Freezing of the Instagram account (#BoltsFreeze), including a stalker story

ESPN's Darren Rovell announced his new #SportsBiz podcast via Twitter today.  Great chance to go back and read (or re-read!) my look at how he handles personal branding:

Really neat visualizations (by +FlowingData) of where people run in cities based on +RunKeeper data. This image shows San Francisco. See more in the link below.

SUMMARY: "If there's one quick (and expected) takeaway, it's that people like to run by the water and in parks, probably to get away from cars and the scenery."

Interesting study/video by +Brian Wansink on the psychology in the cereal aisle.

SUMMARY: Breakfast cereals for kids are on lower shelves while cereals for adults are on higher shelves. In addition, cereals for kids have characters whose eyes look down (presumably where the kid is) while adult cereal box characters look straight ahead.

DISCUSSION: How can this information be used? What other products in a grocery store might be using the same approach/psychology?

Great story/project. Help +David Kutcher out if you have any information on vintage metal porch furniture.

A family project that I need your help for: you wouldn't happen to have a vintage metal porch glider or lawn furniture, would you?

Some of you might remember me mentioning that my family used to build lawn furniture, specifically the original Bunting Glider Company in Philadelphia. Some redone examples of their product: http://www.retrovintagepatio.com/uploads/3/0/5/9/3059587/9621101.jpg

I even recently connected with a company down in Georgia that is recreating the originals based on my great-grandfather's design patents: http://www.localpatio.net

Among other information that I'm learning and compiling, I've learned that Bunting Gliders were a favorite of President Eisenhower, and that all of the lawn furniture at the Augusta National Golf Club were all Bunting (attached picture).

So here's my question: do you happen to have any of this furniture in your family? Any stories about it that you don't mind sharing (and sending to me)? Seen any around your neighborhood perhaps?
