It is moments like these that we are reminded of why we do what we do! Our Occupancy Specialist, Ja'Mai Bell received flowers today from the mother of a prospective resident! The mother's son was currently on our waiting list for a one-bedroom apartment. In the mother’s words, Ja’Mai went “above and beyond” her position at Preferred Properties to assist her son in navigating through the needed paperwork to change his income eligibility and family composition (from one person to two persons, as he has recently married). By making these changes, the son and his wife were now eligible for a two-bedroom apartment.

At the end of the process, the son and his wife decided not to take the two-bedroom apartment, as they preferred to live in a one-bedroom apartment. The son will continue to stay on the one-bedroom waiting list, and when it is his turn on the waiting list, Ja’Mai will assist the couple in completing the necessary paperwork to add his wife to the household.

The mother of the applicant was so moved by Ja’Mai’s compassion, patience, and commitment to find a home for her son and his wife that she wanted show Ja’Mai just how much she is appreciated! Well done, Ja’Mai!
