1963, my first return to Germany after immigrating to the US. This is our own United Nations. Represented were USA, Germany, Italy, France and Canada. Can you pick me out of the crowd?

Letters forever edged in the walls surrounding the 911 Memorial Pond waterfalls. Letters that create names of those we lost that faithful day in New York City. These names will be remembered for eternity.
Out of the rubble and ashes rise the new buildings, build in honor of those we lost and a reminder that this nation will never buckle under any tyranny, any act of terrorism, but will always rise and remember its fallen with vengeance  in our eyes and in our heart. On September 11, 2001 you created for us thousands of heroes and martyrs and we will honor the each and every year, for eternity.
Take a moment and reflect on all that we have seen, felt and experienced in a lifetime. No matter what anyone does, it will never bring us to our knees except when we thank our maker for giving us the strength to persevere.

297 photos, is what my wife took on her recent trip to Aruba. I'm borrowing a few and will post them here on Google+, starting with the last picture first. It doesn't get any better than this. Good night, ya'll!

Last night I took my wife to BWI Airport in Baltimore, Maryland. This morning our oldest son, his 4 daughters and my wife flew to Aruba for a vacation. Guess I'm going to rest up for a week. But I thought otherwise and fingered through the travel logs my wife kept when we used to take vacations together. So here is a little bit of our trip to her ancestors in Ireland. Hope you enjoy what we experienced.

Do I have to return the little barrel to the dog, or can I take it with me as a souvenir?

My green thumb is finally at work again. Learned over the winter what it takes to make the plants I have be at their best. Miracle grow will only do so much. My blueberries are really going to make me happy this season. I changed the acidity of the ground and placed  a bird net around and over them. Now I get the berries, not the birds.

This ol'e house belongs to our eldest son. Soon it will belong to someone else. My son is downsizing, following in dad & mom's footsteps. I will miss that farm and all its charm. The pasture with Athena, the mare and the pygmy goats. Oh well enough said.

The history of the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, the Hurricane Hunters. From Front to rear: WC-135C, WB-57F Long Wing, WB-57D, WB-47E and the latest WC-135E (shown) but now replaced by the WC-130J. This was one of a kind photo since not aircraft shown are from the same Weather Squadron. Missing in this photo is the WB-30, our first official aircraft designed for Weather Reconnaissance and Hurricane Hunting.
