Best sushi in Columbus. I really enjoy sushi so finding this gem is a real win for me. This is a fairly small, casual restaurant and from the appearance I had no idea how good the quality would be. I have eaten there many times now and have been delighted with the food. I have eaten in the steakhouse portion of the restaurant only once. It was fine, but it is the sushi that really impressed me.

We will not be returning to Tanuki. The waitress asked at the beginning if we would be using a Groupon & we said we would be. My wife & I asked for 2 glasses of wine each before Happy Hour ended at 6:30 & she brought them out. House wine is 1/2 off during Happy Hour. When the bill arrived, there was no discount on the wine. We asked the waitress & she said there is no discount on alcohol when using a Groupon. The Groupon Fine Print reads "Not valid for alcohol." It does not read "Not valid WITH alcohol." We payed full price for the food to use the Groupon, rather than take advantage of the BOGO 1/2 price on house rolls. Had I known we would be charged full price for the wine, we would not have used the Groupon. The bill would have been less without it because we had 3 house rolls. We may have sat at the bar prior to eating, had 2 glasses of wine each, closed out, then sat down for dinner but we did not have the chance. Why would the waitress bring 2 glasses of wine out before Happy Hour ended knowing that we would be using the Groupon? I even asked her to separate the wine from the food on a second check so we could get the Happy Hour price. She returned with 2 checks, both at full price. What was the point of bringing out separate checks? Why when there was a problem, did a manager not stop by the table to check with us? Obviously they didn't care about us coming back, so we will not return. Blue Ginger does allow you to take advantage of Happy Hour wine prices with Groupon, so we will be going there from now on.

My husband and I frequently go to Tanuki...Their Hibachi is out of this world delicious!! I'm not a sushi fan however, I tried the Honey Shimp Roll....(nothing raw, tempura shrimp) It was soooo good!! I am hooked!! We take all our friends there and they all agree, it is the Best they have ever had...Their salads are so fresh and the Ginger sauce is Wonderful!!

My family and I go here a lot and love it. The food, service and atmosphere are great. Keep this on your short list for birthdays and special occasions.

A little hard to find at first but wow....lets start off with the atmosphere, very simple but relaxing atmosphere with some soft music in the background. The waiters/waitresses are quick to respond and are prompt with orders (lucky for hubby and I the place was not very busy tonight). Our waitress took our order and in under 10 minutes we had three rolls of sushi (the King Lobster roll....which is now my new favorite, The Honey Shrimp Roll (also friggin delicious) and a Shrimp Tempura Roll). The food was divine, and the price was also very reasonable, and the waitress even took our groupon without a fuss and quickly adjusted our check. My husband and I were in a hurry tonight and were in and out in twenty minutes flat. Good food, great prices, and quick service. You cannot beat Tanuki Japanese Steakhouse in Powell.

This place is a fake Japanese restaraunt. They know nothing about real Japanese food. For those who claims this one has the best sushi in the town, well, you need better taste.
