We have just started to add short videos of some of the electric gates in action so people can see how they operate. Currently the are on the V2 Alfariss sliding electric gate kit and the V2 Vulcan 230volt underground electric gate kit. Here's a link to the Vulcan electric gate kit powering a pair of wooden electric gates. #electricgates

Induction Loops can be added to most electric gates. The standard gate control board rarely has a direct input for loops and requires a separate loop controller to add this type of accessory. The loops are buried in the ground and basically work as a metal detector, reacting to the presence of a large metal object (such as a car!)

The loop can act as a safety device preventing your electric gate from operating when a vehicle is parked over it or as an automatic opening trigger to send a start command to the automatic gate controller as a vehicle is detected by the loop. You can have a single channel loop controller for one loop or a twin channel for two loops as required.

The loop controller will usually take power from the electric gate control panel 24v ac supply but may also be a 240v unit for mains operation where appropriate.

Take a look and feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the product or its suitability for your specific electric gate or access project.

Sliding gate motors provide a simple and secure way of securing your electric gates. Once closed they are securely fixed in place and extremely difficult to open without using the access control system or gate remotes. In the event of power failure there is a key operated release mechanism that allows you to slide the gate open manually.

The V2 GOLD 800D has an advanced digital control panel allowing exact configuration of power and opening/closing times, soft start/stop etc and has a sophisticated object detection system for safety. Access control equipment and safety devices can easily be added to the control system as and when required.

We are pleased to introduce our new video intercom systems. Simple 5 wire installation and clean contact relay for your electric gate control panel make it ideal for automatic gate installations. The kits are available with flat screen hands free video monitors or conventional telephone type handsets with video screen. The heavy duty steel front panel is available with or without a code lock keypad and prices start at only £289 plus vat delivered.

Keypad access can be a huge benefit for an electric gate system. Add a simple codelock unit to your automatic gate installation and you can easily open the gates even if you have forgotten your remote control. You can set up different codes for members of your family, employees or regular visitors and disable individual codes for security if you want to block someone's use of the gate. The simple wired control pad here can be used with most automatic gates and doors.

Electric gates can be operated by various types of intercoms and access control system. Many of these intercoms are either hard wired or a local wireless system with limited range. By adding a GSM phone based intercom to your automatic gates it is possible for people to contact you when you are  away from your property. Someone calling from the entrance gate can ring your house land-line and if this is busy the call can be automatically forwarded to a mobile phone or alternative land line as you wish. When you have spoken to and identified your visitor you can remotely open the gate to allow access if required. It is also possible to call in to the unit to open your electric gates remotely. The GSM wireless intercom will need a suitable pay as you go or contract sim card dependent upon your needs and on a network with adequate local service coverage.

The V2 Wally 433 MHz external radio receiver can be added to an existing electric gate, roller shutter or garage door to allow operation with V2 remote controls. This is particularly useful if you have a V2 automatic gate kit and want to use a spare button on the gate remote to operate your existing garage door. The radio receiver is powered by either 12 or 24 volt AC or DC so can be powered directly from most automatic gate control panels or garage door motors and provides a simple clean contact switch to activate the automation system. If you don't have a suitable power supply on the gate or door operator then you can easily add a separate 12v or 24v supply.

Add a V2 Sirmo Digit wireless keypad to your electric gates and you can operate the gates without your remote controls. Handy if your gate remote is in the car or you have left it in the house or if you simply want to give the code to family members or regular visitors. The digital keypad can have up to  9 different codes and you can either have a different code to activate separate electric gates or automated garage doors or you can have as many of the codes as you wish operating a single electric gate installation. This keypad entry system is only suitable for use with V2 gate control panels and radio receiver kits.

If you are having trouble with the radio control range on your electric gate installation you may want to consider adding and external antenna. Though gate remote controls work by radio not infra-red any object between the transmitter and the receiver at the control panel  will reduce the range. Most automatic gate kits will be supplied with and internal ariel and this is normally adequate but the external antenna can be mounted above a wall, fence or gateposts so as to give line of sight to the point from which you want to operate the gates. In rare cases radio interference can reduce the range on a gate or garage door remote and an external antenna may not help in such a case though it will still let you locate the antenna in a slightly different position so may still be beneficial.
