The largest concern for me isn't over the ownership of the pictures or posting them. Selling them, especially without a release, WITH MINORS, is a touchy thing. As far as the copyright, there is no question that the kid owns them and I don't know if there is anything wrong or illegal even about posting them on Flickr.

I recommend watching the video instead, I'm not a lawyer and they are. They can explain it better than anyone.

I'm just so blown away that I was expecting an actual renaissance and I got it. By renaissance I mean stuff that they figured out in Italy over 500 years ago and it's 2015. What a forward thinking society to move from not having to cover your head, to having to cover your whole body in black if you are a woman, and then actually breaking away from all black and putting colors on fabric. It's as mind blowing as a child discovering a crayon box and paper for the first time.

I liked Mama Mia better when it was called "I don't know who your dad is because I was so loose in Europe"

And at the end of the video, you took a portrait/headshot in "landscape"... WOW horizontalitis, Jesus! Why WHY?! Is your face naturally horizontally stretched or something?

C-41 is GREAT film and you can overexpose it a LOT before it has no more detail, great stuff. I've had trouble with some of the color shifts from outside light bouncing indoors and shifting in weird ways. Not necessarily a bad thing, it's interesting to see for sure, not something available on digital.

This is as silly as saying when dealing with the issue of racism "Well, if we got rid of all the black people, the other races wouldn't be inconvenienced by having to look at them". Note that "black people" is also arbitrary in a choice of which race to choose to get rid of in order to avoid racist thought. It would be foolish to even attempt to enter into a discussion on something so foolish.

I really just don't understand shooting landscape for a headshot. I don't agree that this is the best way to shoot. Landscape is acceptable for environmental shots but to fill it with white light and a head on the other half of the image? I'm sorry I just don't get it. The way the space is occupied is odd, horizontalitis seems to infect many people these days. I think the only exception would be for perhaps a magazine fold out or something that is innately horizontal and you must occupy the space with a face. Even then, an environmental shot would be much better.

It's unfortunate because it seems like she's saying you already have to be well promoted to work for an agency like hers and that's funny because usually the best photographers are pretty bad at self promotion. It seems like what she's talking about is that you pretty much already have to be an entrepreneur or established socially to even work for a company like hers and then most of the cash is going to the art director and not the photographer. It's like the photographer can't just have skills to take good pictures or tell a story with those pictures but need a publicist or agent to represent the photographer to be popular enough to even work for her company. That's really sad that it's a popularity contest and not a testament to the skill of the artist that they are focusing on. But I do agree with her that video gets more pay than stills anymore, for photographers I think that is an easy transition. It is also true that I think people who focus their degrees on "fine art" photography won't be as successful as commercial photographers. Annie Leibovitz, Platon, Helmut Newton ect. get their bread and butter from their commercial work first, then they can sell their "fine art" prints in galleries. Very few make it the other way around like Todd Hido does. I think that is an important point to take away if you want to make money at photography, especially if you are going to be racked up in debt anyways and have a better chance of making it in the NFL than to make a living wage until you can retire as a photographer.
