Chilling, not Stressing will help you at work

Let’s face it. Stress abounds. Everywhere!
At home, work, on the road, even standing in the check out queue.
Stress is a killer and it affects us in every way.
If you are a person who is organised and likes things ‘just so’ you may tend to get more stressed when things don’t go according to plan.
I think I’m one of those.
Or you can be a more relaxed, easy going individual (I envy them) who just allows life to move on by and tends to stress less.
How good would that be?
Research done in the UK tells us that there is a link between managing stress well (eating well, exercising, sleep etc) and resilience (the ability to bounce forward after a life’s difficulty (or two.)
Modern day work demands and challenges can be difficult for all of us.
It’s worse if things aren’t going well at home either.
So look after yourself, take it easy. Deep breath.
I was taught that resilient thinking is asking yourself ‘how can I recover?’
When you think negatively, challenge this life script of yours.
Positive thinking brings with it resilient consequences.
Think optimistically about your life and the challenges you face, even though it might not be the easiest thing to do sometimes.
Many Organisations offer wellness Programs, but not all.
If yours doesn’t, it means that you need to make your health and wellness a priority individually and ensure that looking after yourself becomes your top daily priority.
If you don’t, who will?
