New strategic thinking regarding farming policy is urgently required. When market forces push milk and meat prices below production costs radical ideas are needed. Landscape can and should inform decisions. Can west country farmers make a more reliable and sustainable living from growing fuel as src willow (and remove a need for a badger cull)? should hardwood timber be reintroduced to the welsh hills instead of sheep? Better for wildlife no doubt and maybe more profitable?

Land restoration scheme we produced last year provided improved habitat for dingy skipper and great crested newt on site as well as recreational facilities including allotments and woodland walks for local residents

carefully selecting plants to provide continuity with the larger landscape and ensuring quality nectar bearing flowers throughout the season not only ensures our landscapes are always attractive we also provide essential food sources for butterflies and other pollinators
