I had a great time learning the business and the drinks. I was in a morning class with three other students. There was a lot of one-on-one instruction and the atmosphere was light and fun. Although it was fun, don't let that make you think that it was easy. There are a lot of drinks and methods to learn from all parts of the industry. Al and Frank are excellent instructors with years of experience. If you pay attention and study, you will be fine. One of the nicest things these guys offer is the chance to come back anytime for practice and support---for FREE. After completing the course, you are more than welcome to sit in on classes and even retake the exam if you didn't pass the first time. Not everyone passes the first time, but they will work with you to get you where you need to be. My girlfriend is taking the class now and was offered a job before she started the course. Once the employer found out that she was going to attend the course, he told her that she had a job waiting for her upon graduating. The people in the industry know that Al and Frank only produce solid bartenders. It's up to you where you take the training.

The best decision I ever made. Frank was a great instructor,...not a give'me course. If your serious about becoming a working bartender, then this is your place. Within two weeks of completing the class I was hired as a full-time bartender at a great new restaurant in the new terminal at the San Diego Airport and I'm already making GREAT money$$ It's a no brainer!

The entire experience was entirely worth the long days of class and long hours of studying. I'll be honest and say that I took this class for fun; regardless of this fact Frank was great and kept the class engaged, excited, and motivated to learn. The bar setup was more than anyone could ask for. Yes- you could possibly just buy a book with tons of recipes using youtube as your personal teacher. But nothing could possibly replace the knowledge base and the love for teaching future food service employees like this school. I highly recommend Mixology. They love what they do!

They have Sold, Changed Ownership,Gone Out of Business or Merged with the Bartending School that used to be on Mission Gorge. There used to be 2 schools and now there is 1. The phone message is the same on both sites, THAT IS A BIG RED FLAG!!

Frank and Al know what they are doing here. By no means is it an "easy" course but it is very passable with a slight amount of studying some flash cards. They were very understanding when it came to personal issues like being late to class or having to make up classes or tests. Overall my entire experience with Mixology was stellar, i would recommend this course to anybody from aspiring bartenders to the guy who just wants to do it for fun. I enjoyed every class period during the two week night course... and that was after 8 hours of college classes each day! Well worth your time and money!
