A cute story: sorry there's no pictures of the princess and her admirers.
We will pause from our usual railing at banks and Illinois politicians for this following cute story, posted publicly by a friend on Facebook: So (it’s publicly posted, but I don’t know that they’d want their name here, so I ...

Bredemann Ford in Glenview
2038 Waukegan Rd, Glenview, IL 60025
We went to Bredemann Ford because we were looking for a Ford Escape and had good experiences with Bredemann Toyota with our 2006 Prius. Chester Gilbert was our salesperson. He was very knowledgeable about the product and very helpful in making our decisions (and hunting up the exact car we wanted quickly). We'd recommend the Escape as a nice small SUV and this dealer.

Was interested to see you have a 2006 Prius. So do we. It was purchased new (during the last month of big federal and state rebates) and now has 135k miles, most of them with my happy Eco conscious spouse at the wheel.

Very Good gyros and hot dogs (haven't tried other items). I'd recommend the slaw as a side dish -- you get a good sized serving for the money. The Homer's ice cream is a delight. The decor is outdated, but OK.

I stayed on the hotel side, not the hostel side. I had a nice sitting room, and a room with a king size bed. Lots of nice old hotel atmosphere, but with modern plumbing, a walk-in shower, and free wifi. What's not to like? Be sure to look at the 2 large Gish murals. Gallery of art from the local cartoonists colony in the lobby.

I have stayed here on both my GAP trips and recommend it highly. Right on the GAP trail, food and a bike shop half a block away (Trailside Inn, bike shop below, Rite Aid drug store close), view of the Yough River, garage to store bikes in, attentive owners, fine breakfast, easy parking, great rooms with recent plumbing.

Good breakfast/brunch place. Excellent omelets, pancakes, bagels. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Also a take-out bakery in the front. I've been there often.

The owner is helpful and clearly proud of the place, but also gives you your space. Speaking of space, our room was large, spacious and comfortable and the fireplace was a nice spot to warm up (30 degrees outside). The breakfast was terrific. Highly recommended (stayed in March 2013)
