And then there was the time...  -

...and then there was the time I was on Klorox II, figuring out the obtuse source of the coordinates to the Genetix lab and my sunglasses (read: monitor brightness settings) shadowed the whole Primordial Soup Can so that I didn't even realize it was there.  Walked around for hours.  Then when I did finally see it, I tried to "eye" it and "grab" it and "walk" to it, but I learned I just couldn't reach it from here.  So I walked around for hours until I learned I had to be on an entirely different grid reference (read: background screen) to find the path up to it.  I was so frustrated, but my time in command aboard the SCS Eureka is still one of my favorites.

I saw it right away and, being one of a curious nature, thought, That I must have. Can't remember how long it took me though. I don't remember spending too long on it though....maybe because I was going after it right away.

Haje Jan Kamps originally shared:

UK police can legally seize your video / stills camera or camera phone if you're recording the ongoing riots. Here are the details - and what to do if this happens to you.
Earlier today, I sent out a quick tweet warning potential photographers at the ongoing London Riots that police could potentially seize their cameras as evidence. Unsurprisingly, that tweet was challe...

Why the Citizen's United ruling, as is, will not produce accountability in campaign finance: One of the single largest campaign contributions of the cycle so far was from a group that dissolved within months of formation after contributing $1 million to Romney, and investigators can determine little or nothing about the entity. Credit goes to +Chris Schroeck for bringing this one to my attention

You have to vote for this guy. Imagine if he can make the nation's debt disappear like the company disappeared. Oh, the possibilities.

I'm sure there is a frosted donut holes joke in here already, but I'd just like to point out that this is the kind of action you get in NJ

Although the article asks: Unplanned pregnancies v. moral authority, I think the real question is: Does someone have a fundamental right to have a medicine that does not treat ANY disease, sickness, or other life-threatening health issue? Do men have a fundamental right to free condoms? Given the current debt crisis, can we begin expanding "free access to all" healthcare to meds that are only laughably called "preventative medicine" by the Department of Health and Human Services
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. health insurance companies must fully cover women's birth control and other preventive health care services under Obama administration rules released on Monday.

Disclaimer: I know that birth control can treat real hormonal imbalances. In those cases, I do not have an issue with this new rule (beyond general concerns about paternalism)

You have to listen to these girls enjoying their rioting in London: the joy in their voices as these girls describe the “fun” they are having and their hope that they continue the next day, the class-warfare justification they feel for the looting and burning of shops, or their almost comic ignorance of which party holds control of the government (“Conservatives. Yeah. Whatever who it is. I dunno…”).
The BBC has spoken to two girls that took part in Monday night's riots in Croydon, who boasted that they were showing police and "the rich" that "we can do what we want".

Can you imagine if Chase called you and said, "Look, you're debt addiction is a problem. We love the interest we are earning off you're sorry ass each month, but we need to see some structural reforms in your home economics or we'll cancel your credit cards"?
China has rebuked the United States for its "addiction" debt and warned of further turmoil in financial markets after Standard & Poor's stripped the world's biggest economy...

Newt Gingrich brags about his 1.3 million twitter followers, leads to discovery that most of them are fake dummy accounts. Sad.

creating that many accounts takes commitment. That's got to count for something, right?

Sad but true, only 12% of American high school graduates are proficient in American history...so yeah, I guess we're doomed to repeat it
If there's a student anywhere who would be able to answer a trivia question about President Abraham Lincoln, it would be on the marble steps of his memorial in the nation's capital.

Had a lockout at the worst time and needed help fast. Found Pop-A-Lock locksmith online and called. They were very courteous and took my location and had someone out to me within 20 minutes. Obviously they were able to "pop the lock," but the little things are what made the experience great - the locksmith was personable and polite, he arrived in a clearly labeled/marked Pop-A-Lot vehicle and uniform so I knew exactly who I was dealing with (unlike some places I've dealt with in the past, where you get some shady guy who has trouble communicating and arrives in plainclothes and a van that leaves you a bit worried with who showed up). No one wants to get locked out of their vehicle, but the folks at Pop-A-Lock took care of me with the highest level of professionalism and much faster than I expected (seriously, who resolves a lockout on a weekend within 20 minutes, I've never seen that before - these guys will get you taken care of fast!)
