You're right... I fully expect stupidity from those long unheard... and it may be a bit messy... but if you look at stats on various significant issues you'll find the American people are fairly reasonable... what is needed is some balance for the greed and stupidity that's come from the top... and left us with two Parties enslaved by the stupidity at the top... and this needs some balance.

You're absolutely right... and its right from the beginning! The technology of agriculture... (which fostered larger integrated societies) encouraged the development of 'war' technology... which in turn played a big role in the rise of a large-scale 'business' of slavery. "Slavery" also may have occurred in hunter-gatherer societies... but was of a different form and was more likely to lead to eventual social integration rather than a persistent class structure.

These are just early examples... but they can be found all along the timeline. But its not all one-sided. Technology cuts both ways... so its not about being anti-technology... but rather being aware of.... and addressing... its social implications.
