a little X-mas epi humour  - a 'covert' observational study on the survival of chocolates

The median survival time of 258 chocolates placed in 4 UK hospital wards was found to be 51 min with a half-life of 99 min. An exponential decay model best fit the data (an initial fast rate of death that slowed over time).

Quality Street chocolates survived longer than Roses chocolates (hazard ratio for survival of Roses v Quality Street 0.70, 95% confidence interval 0.53 to 0.93, P=0.014). Chocolates were most often eaten by healthcare assistants versus other staff (28%)
