The +Washington Post is out with its list of DC's 40 most essential eats, and it's a good mix of classic and new.

Good Stuff Eatery's Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake is a must if you have never had it before (but nothing else on the menu unfortunately). And Rasika's palak chaat is so good you might lick the bowl.

I'm dying to get to DCity Smokehouse and Ren's Ramen in my backyard.

Any of your favorites make the list or new essentials you want to try out?
The Brisket Champ sandwich, Amsterdam falafel and 38 other eclectic eats that make it so rewarding to dine in Washington right now.

A great article and must read about what's possible when you make the decision about whether to get off the branch and into the game or stay a spectator in life.

Sonja Sohn played a Baltimore detective on the critically acclaimed TV show “The Wire,” trying to catch drug dealers and get the killers off the streets. When the show finished, she found she couldn’t leave the city and all its problems behind. So she created a program, based on lessons from “The Wire,” to help the city’s troubled youth turn their lives around.

While people can disagree with Broadcasters on this on...the Court got it right.  Here's to waiting until someone else tries to shake up the industry.
Citing copyright law, the 6-3 decision rejected the streaming service’s model of capturing broadcast signals and delivering them to subscribers.

Having lived in two of the four cities that are bidding for the 2024 Games and having visited the other two multiple times, I think DC is the best overall pick.
Yes people will complain about the extra folks in the city, the added security, the crowded Metro trains on a system that is already at the end of its ropes, but we are the Nation's Capital for a reason. I say let the games begin...
The United States Olympic Committee seems ready to bid for the 2024 Summer Games. But the hard part is deciding which of the four finalists — Boston, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco — has the best chance of being chosen by the International Olympic Committee.

Well, I guess the committee didn't share my thoughts on who should host. Good luck to the Hub City

So in keeping with RuPaul...if you've never listened to WTF with Marc Maron...do yourself a favor.  http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episodes/episode_498_-_rupaul_charles
Comedian Marc Maron is tackling the most complex philosophical question of our day - WTF? He'll get to the bottom of it with help from comedian friends, celebrity guests and the voices in his own head. You loved him on Morning Sedition. You kinda liked him on The Marc Maron Show. You tolerated him on Break Room Live. Now, embrace him on a show from which he cannot be fired - WTF with Marc Maron.

I could love this place so much more if it wasn't so expensive. Don't get me wrong...this is not jumbo slice pizza, but $20 for a large is a bit much I think. I loved when it was BYO and haven't been since the bar first opened up. If you are in the hood and craving pizza that's not from a place that runs commercials non-stop try it out.

From the sushi to the pad thai, you will love everything offered at this great Thai restaurant. It's never over-crowded when I've been which I love. I don't mind waiting for this great food...but glad that most seem to order delivery; which by the way is always fast and the food is always hot. I love the sushi here along with the calamari. The entrees are also good and I'm a fan of the cashew chicken and the basil fried rice. Glad to have something so good to my place.

Good times all around. I was worried about moving to NE because I didn't think I would have a neighborhood bar, I was wrong. This place is full of locals from the neighborhood and folks who want to come and see what's happening in this great hood in the District. I have to start with the wings because they will keep you coming back again and again. They are sweet, smoky, and spicy all at the same time and damn I want some now just writing this. Any place that has amazing wings and a great selection of bourbon and whiskey is a winner in my book. Boundary Stone and Public House can get crowded so be prepared. You can always score a drink from the bar and hawk a table until it becomes open. Which if you like wings...it's worth the wait.

Get here!!!! Enough said. I have been craving good...no better yet AMAZING BBQ, here in the District for a very long time and thank god my prayers have been answered. The smell alone of this place will drive you inside. Add that to the great people who work here and the amazing food and you will keep coming back time after time. There is nothing I've had here that I won't eat again....and I've had the entire menu at this point. My favorites are the wings, brisket and the greens. The spice mix on the wings will leave you licking your fingers over and over again. The "bark" on the brisket is outta of this world. When it comes to the greens....I'm pretty sure they are using pot liquor that was made somewhere deep in the south. Tips; 1. Don't be thrown off by the line which you will be in when you open the door. It moves pretty quickly and the music always has someone dancing. 2. Grubhub won't deliver after a certain hour on weekends...might be 7pm or so. Don't let that get you down, go and enjoy the music while you wait for your food. 3. Make sure you go back again and again

I really don't know how to describe Showtime....It's as if an Adams Morgan bar got picked up by a tornado and landed in Le Droit. You will have a good time, but on weekends it's packed in this place and you are right, there is not a ton of room in the bar.

I've only been for the happy hour and I have to say it was worth it. Drink and food specials that are so needed on this side of the District. The wings were spicy without being overdone and by my standards it means that I can come back again and enjoy other things. Friends got the sliders and chips and both looked really good and were enjoyed to there was nothing left on the plate. As far as the restaurant itself, it's HUGE. Not going to lie, if you are meeting friends here make sure that they or you indicate where you are at in this place. There is a bar upstairs and downstairs. The staff were great on directing me to where to access the upstairs bar....all the way in the back and up the stairs, and yes it looks like you are going into the kitchen before you hit the stairs.
