I took advantage of my exile from my apartment due to construction by preparing tokens for my B/X D&D Stonehell game while out for breakfast and lunch. Apparently I tagged my white shirt with my Sharpie at some point. And I hear from a friend that I missed a fire in the neighboring apartment complex shortly after I left this morning.

Wonderful writer and teacher Kristy Lin Billuni has chosen me (!!!) for this month's writer interview on her website. I chat with the Sexy Grammarian about my process, why I've chosen role-playing games as my primary form of expression, and what I'm looking at doing next.

Play-testing my new scenario makes me think it's horrific enough. I asked a player what she wanted to do after being attacked by the villain. In response, she said, "I projectile vomit in her face."

The illimitable Nick Gucker (www.nickthehat.com) offered custom illustrations at this year's H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and CthulhuCon. I cajoled him into drawing my favorite subject: myself.

I need to write a short bio for something. Here's what I have so far: "Christopher Smith Adair is a freelance writer of role-playing games and sometime copyeditor. They find writing their own bio to be a staggeringly formidable task."

The canyon behind our apartment makes a great natural amphitheater. Whoever's conducting that warbly guitar practice across the way may as well have set up in our living room.

I was walking by the pool and heard what sounded like a snort. I turned to see the giant unicorn floatie staring at me. It would have been nice to ride it away into a magical land, but I guess I just have to get back to cleaning the apartment.
