It's spring. Probably. A time of new beginnings, or so “they” say. Of course, there are beginnings and endings all the time (or never, depending on your perspective) as the world is in a constant state of flux, the waves of time go up and down and change is the only constant.

Heres's a brand new Gorilla Newsletter for you to enjoy! This week; the power of the mind, immigration, making movies, dogs, death, blood sucking and artefacts.
It's becoming increasingly bizarre to what extent people are willing to forgive invasions of privacy, from cameras on the street to social networking sites that sell your identity to advertisers, and even game consoles that watch you while you masturbate (in order to sell your identity to ...

Apparently 3 is a magic number, but Gorilla doesn't believe in all that nonsense. Anyway, here's the super special 30th Newsletter on the 30th of July 2013, featuring a HUGE Gorilla announcement!
There is a game, an admittedly offensive game, called Chinese Whispers. The game is played like this; one child whispers a message to another, who passes the message on, through a large group of other children, until the last one announces it to the whole group. This is fun because, by the end, ...

Ah, we're all call caught up now. With rumblings of something big in the Gorilla Mountain, a small fissure opens revealing a new Gorilla Newsletter! Enjoy. The latest theme is 'Rebellion'.
The status quo. The state in which. Maintaining the way things are. Such is the objective of authority, to keep the peace, to repress any rumblings of rebellion. To hold onto some semblance of order. But the powers that govern us are not always benign, often we are slaves to systems, to beliefs, ...

So here's another Gorilla Newsletter. This time the theme is Journey. We've got a Cannes in a Van interview, Kentucky Route Zero: Act II and Skyrim: Legendary Edition reviews, Kino London, BAFTA Filmmakers’ Market and the film of the week: Le Voyage Dans La Lune in colour with music by Air.
Life is a journey, so the cliché goes. We're born, we explore, we age, moving ever forwards in time and then, eventually, we die (or become robots). Most of us will go on more literal journeys throughout our time on Earth, migrating from the homes we grew up in to find new habitats to call our ...

Christmas is over, gone, finished. You are standing in front of a vast ocean of potential. The new year. It's big, twelve months big, and deep. And full of monsters. All around you people are setting sail, some in groups, most by themselves, armed with new resolutions to see them through, ...

What's this? A shiny new Newsletter from your friends at Gorilla! It's true we're just a teeny tiny magazine, fluttering in a swirling vortex of chaos, but chaos is creative.
Order and chaos go together like coffee and cigarettes, if the eventual outcome of cigarettes could be mathematically described and partially predicted by coffee… OK, forget the analogy, life is sometimes a bit chaotic, alright? If indeed chaos truly exists. It's usually a good idea to go with ...

Hallelujah! The Gorilla Newsletter has returned, to fill your life with light and magic once again. No need to think, no need to wonder, just get down on your knees and trust us completely!
For some reason, people love to get down on their knees, and I'm not just talking about sex. There's something about us, a universal loose screw perhaps, that makes us feel an overwhelming insecurity, a worthlessness, a desire to be punished. Of course, like many animals we're hardwired to look ...

Newsletter 27 is food themed. We've got sentient food, a bite-sized action hero, a swarm of hungry invaders, Miyazaki's dinner recipe, mushroom zombies and a cupcake that dreams of a better world.
At some point, in the not too distant future, producing energy for our bodies will be as simple as plugging batteries into our robot heart cavities. But for now humankind must rely on the consumption of nutrients, which we can get by eating various plants, or stealing them from other animals via ...

If you're anything like me (and I assume you are) you absolutely hate sunshine, the outdoors and laughter. The 25th Newsletter presents an alternative to summer, a list of the "top five" mainstream blockbusters in the cinema. I know what you're thinking and the answer is yes, it is indeed a cruel joke.
If you leapt out of bed at 5am with the sun in your eyes and the taste of liquor on your tongue, you probably won't be surprised to hear that it's officially summer here in sunny Britain. And, if like Gorilla you have an intangible, somewhat fleeting obligation to your work, you've probably ...

My name is William Dyer and I work for Gorilla Film Magazine!
Introduction
My name is William, I'm a writer, filmmaker and dogsbody. I do a lot of undefinable jobs for Gorilla Film Magazine, including public relations, content management, spiritual advisor and cleaner. My main focus at the moment is to raise awareness for GFM, something that I believe is really important. I adore low-to-no budget filmmaking and think the 'Independent Filmmaker's Guidebook' has huge potential (it bloody better have, I've put enough time and energy into it).
