It's an exciting week around the Madison office. Bid-A-Thon kicked off on Monday for Think Local Week so full speed ahead with promotions and getting ready for shipping logistics. Let me know your thoughts on the new format: http://deals.auctionanything.com

There are some great items in the this year's Bid-A-Thon to support +Dane Buy Local including some from +Graphite - Apple Specialist, +Waterfront Graphic Design, and Madison Mallards ! Bids will be accepted until 9pm on Sunday. Thanks to all that are participating.

As most of the people in my circles are social media-savvy, my latest blog post on building an online audience may come across as a waste of time. While that may be true, what I hope readers will take away from this mostly tongue-in-cheek missive is the fact that a majority of blog posts I've read are simply following a tried and true method for hooking readers with little imagination for structure or outline. Enjoy!

Bid-A-Thon is going on now. Ends tomorrow. Good opp to shop from home and support Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee.

G+ updates, then Facebook, where's Twitter? Still dealing with last week's blackout? Or cooking up an update?

+Lance Ulanoff highlights the fact that Facebook and Google+ are releasing features back to back this week: It's hard to keep up.

I love Google+'s new features, but I do have a hunch that FB will dominate the week's news given that their announcements on Thursday are expected to be major - including a new music and media consumption platform.

The real challenge for Google+: It seems that whatever Google launches, Facebook will launch something similar (eg. their reaction to Circles), thus bringing those features to 700 million people and preventing those users from switching.

Is there a long term competitive advantage that Google+ can find, or will they always be at risk of Facebook launching something similar to stay ahead?

Finding current poll results shocking.... More people answered "use neither" than "Twitter" and "G+" combined. Poll launched earlier today, so maybe will change?

What are using to manage your G+ account? Nervous about Google Chromes Extension hacking other site cookies, but need a system.
