Great quotes ... Love the "technology, talent, and tolerance" quote -- need room to fail and explore.

Creativity is combinatorial ... nothing is entirely original, everything builds on what came before, and that we create by taking existing pieces of inspiration, knowledge, skill, and insight that we gather over the course of our loves and recombining them into incredible new creations.

Great writeup... How many other products suffer from over reliance on self data analysis?
Are we becoming too analytical? You cannot go a day it seems without reading yet another article on why students need to learn data analysis skills. We are drowning in "big data." The top co...

I agree that as a field, we need to find a better balance between analytical approaches to design (quantitative, data mining, etc) and more design-oriented approaches (Liz Sanders).

Thank you Madeleine L'Engle!

Be encouraged.  Close your eyes and let go.  Remember, as Peter did, what it felt like when nothing was sustaining you in the small space between your feet and those daunting waves but the power of an unrelenting Love.

And walk on.

Creativity without fear.
Introduction
I suppose I've always been creative.  I think most kids are naturally that way -- artsy and creative -- until someone tells them that they're not.

But for me, according to my parents sometimes, it would seem that from birth I received an "extra" dose of creative-ness.

I was more than your average build-a-castle-in-the-sand creative kid.  Not better, mind you. Just more. More consumed.  More obsessive.  More willing to tear it down and start again.  More passionate.

More books and colored pencils, stickers and paint, photos, and most especially, bytes and pixels.
