This buzzing pub served up a wide range of craft beers, plus burgers & wood-fired pizzas.- Google

Terrible food, we were disappointed that a place so highly recommended was so bad. We had tortilla soup (I'm Mexican, they can't fool me) totally flavorless, fish tacos the same– the tortillas were white-ish, but not totally awful, and wings, also terrible, the sauce, the chicken itself badly cooked, very fatty skin. Service ok. Tonight it was 55 degrees, maybe that's considered good weather here in California (I live in NY) but it was chilly, they had ceiling heaters on, but it would have helped to close the doors and windows. Me and my partner had a jacket on the whole time. There was no other place open and we wanted to trust the L.A. Times review, but we should have gone home.

My go to place! The best tasting burgers by far..and the pizza is equally as great! Don't forget to ask for a side of Fresno Chile chips! They are the bomb! The beers are awesome and unique. Allegash my favorite. Most importantly, the staff, from the bottom up...are the coolest, nicest people you'll encounter anywhere. You feel special when come here!

Cool, casual dining option in the greatness of Belmont Shore. Simmzy's will tempt you with great menu options: from Ahi to burgers, fish tacos to pizzas (check the cinnamon/berry brunch pizza) and lunch/daily specials, there's a lot of diversity to please your palate. Wash your selection down with carefully selected beer and wine on tap (yes, wine on tap - sustainability people). The emphasis on not only craft beer, but local craft beer is notable and refreshing. Not only can you support a local business at Simmzy's but you can also support local breweries! The vibe is chill, there's couples tables and long public tables down the middle. The open air dining is omnipresent - not just felt on the outskirt tables. It gives you a grill by the beach kind of feeling but with an upscale twist thanks to the decor. In all, it's a great place with scrumptious food and mouthwatering brews. My kind of place!

This is just a very cool place, on par with some of the places I'd been to in LA, like Pitfire Pizza and Wurstkuche. My friend and I loved the open plan, which lends a very communal and convivial air to the place. There were a lot of locals here, which was a good sign. The menu and drink list looked very good, especially the beer selection. We opted to start things off with a Bootleggers Palomino Pale Ale, which was a very good selection on an early summer evening. Feeling in the mood for some comfort food, we decided on their Tuesday night special, which is a Meatloaf Dinner for Two. It came to us on a big rectangular plate and looked massive and delicious. The giant loaf, heaping mountain of mashed potatoes with its lake of brown gravy, and haystack of sauteed spinach with parmesan was more than enough for two hungry people, and it really satisfied our comfort food craving. It wasn't too "fancified" to lose that comfort factor, but it had enough interest and flavor to bring it above mere diner meatloaf. The service was great too, even if our waiter had one of those old-timey mustaches all the hipster kids have these days. He was very nice, not douchey at all. Overall, a fun relaxing evening--I will be back!

Great selection of beers on tap & wines to choose from here. =) ------------------------------------------------------ Review of the Food: Veggie Scramble: 4 stars Very buttery & rich flavorful mixture of well balanced flavors. Very filling at the the same time. -------------------------------------------------------------- Eggs Benedict Pizza: 3 stars Thin crusted but chewy crusted pizza with egg Benedict on top which made the pizza a bit mushy & runny. Sauce that was on top of the pizza was a bit too much, it should have been a lighter drizzle of the sauce on this pizza. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Service: B- Friendly but a bit slow & had to keep waving the waitress down to get service. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Decor: A Very cool style inside with different types of woods featured here. =) ---------------------------------------------------------------- I think that it's great that they open the patio sliding doors to let the cool ocean breeze in on a hot summer day ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Overall, not bad but a bit on the pricier side probably due to the location; this place being on a busy street in LB.

Simmzy's has all open-air seating so it's a perfect venue when the weather is nice. It's not quite on the water but you can certainly walk a few blocks over and be right on the beach. I actually ended up here after taking my dog to Rosie's Dog Beach. They don't allow dogs inside but you can request one of the side seatings and have your dog next to you on the other side of the railings. The best part about Simmzy's is that they have no corkage fee! You can bring as many bottles of wine as you'd like at no additional charge. They also have a full bar. Our waitress was super nice and sweet. She even offered water for my little dog. The food did take a long time to come out though. I tried the brussel sprouts, eggs benedict pizza, and their blue cheese fries. I can't say that I'm a complete fan of their food because I felt that everything tasted fairly average. The best part of my meal was the cinnamon apple filled donut. It is seriously the best donut I've ever had. The donut was a thin crispy shell filled with lots and lots of cinnamon apples. It's all topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. I could eat like a hundred of those. Parking is a pain on the street adjacent to the restaurant. I would recommend parking by the beach or looking further into the neighborhood.
