RE this snippet of the statement from the Apero Foundation: "Specifically, the required reciprocity of copyleft licenses (like the GPL and AGPL) is viewed negatively by many potential adopters and contributors."

It's not that reciprocity is viewed negatively - required or otherwise.

The thing that's viewed negatively is having two sets of rules with no compelling technical reason: one for copyright owners, and one for devs using an open codebase. That's a pretty textbook definition of a non-level playing field.

But really, this feels like a fork, with business positioning playing out as a licensing debate.

The inBloom story has always fascinated me - both for how it polarized discussion and how it cut across many different lines of education policy discussions. Now thatinBloom has folded, I'm curious to dig deeper into what we have all learned over the last three years.

Toward that end, I put together a proposal for funding over on IndieGogo. Take a look; let me know what you think.

Good to know. I wonder if other verification sites are doing this as well.
Hey +LastPass - I love your Heartbleed site checking tool and have been telling everyone I know to use it.  The fact that it checks the SSL certificate dates is great, but it has a critical flaw: newly re-issued/regenerated certs are still detected by the tool as unsafe.  It appears that certificate providers are re-issuing certs with the original issue date, so even though I know my OpenSSL is patched and I have a newly-issued cert on my sites, your tool is still telling my users my site is unsafe.

Do you have links to specific examples that support these claims?
