Feel a sensational experience rescuing turtle’s eggs in the wild.

Do you want to have a magical feeling rescuing turtle’s eggs in the wild? Come here, this is the right place and now is the right time.

June and July is the peak nesting season and busy time for mother turtles at every coast line in the island of Bali, Indonesia. By midnight till dawn many of them will crawl up the sand looking for the right spot to lay eggs preparing for their next generations. This event makes every guard and conservationist even busier controlling their territory to make sure nesting season is safe from predators and irresponsible people.

Saba beach, located at Gianyar regency only 40 minutes away from Ngurah Rai International airport is one of the busiest spots in Bali for such event. Led by Saba Asri, a self-funded sea turtle conservation center initiated by local fishermen together with volunteers they are hand in hand monitoring the area of 15km coastlines. It is necessary to keep local stray dogs away from mother turtles while they lay eggs that always eager to disturb and dig their eggs for food. And more importantly to recue every single nest to their sanctuary for safer incubation processes, otherwise predators will always be free inviting themselves for second chances.

Saba beach has always been busy by visitors especially during weekend and holidays even though it is not as famous as Kuta and Sanur. Its tranquility and beautiful scenery lured visitors over the years. Soft sands, crystalline waters, the view of Nusa Penida Island across the ocean, stunning sunrise and an array of Kusamba’s hills with the great mount Agung at the background make it even more irresistible. If you are lucky enough and the weather is clear, you might be able to spot the silhouette of mount Rinjani at Lombok Island during sunrise.

The rapid development of tourism industry allows this place be more accessible by visitors from any direction. A better infrastructure and technology help to boost confidence of investors to build good quality of accommodations and other facilities too. One of them is Saba Garden Villa, a privately designed luxury villa which located close to Saba Asri Turtle Conservation.
