Wallcreeper (Tichodroma muraria HU: Hajnalmadár) at the Great temple of Tata, Hungary
This is a pretty rare bird in Hungary, so after a while when I started using highISO, I've decided to switch to video recording to capture as much as possible. My gear was not really fit for video recording (Sigma 150-500 (500mm) on a Canon 600D) and I didn't had any tripod with me, so that's why it's pretty shaky. Sorry bout that ;)

The Wallcreeper (Tichodroma muraria HU: Hajnalmadár) is a pretty rare visitor in Hungary, so when I heard the news that they saw one near my home (literally 3 minutes away) I knew I had to see it.

Unfortunately I did not find the time to go until now. The light was terrible, so I had to shoot at least ISO 1600, but I think, I got the best out of it. What do you think?

So I had this idea to create a page about my beautiful hometown: Tata.

Well, all journey starts with a small step: I've secured the domain name 2890.hu This is the postal code for my town.

I wonder if I will do anything with it, anytimes soon :)

Frog rescuers

In March the frogs get out from their winter sleep and start a short migration to the nearest breeding place. They were doing it for thousand years, but did not notice that humans built a road in their way.

Without our help, those roads look like a massacre, but a local nature reservist organization (+Száz Völgy TE )  , which I am a member of ;) saves thousands of frogs.

We built blocks in the path of the frogs, to lead them into buckets. From there we collect them twice a day and safely transport them to the breeding place. Since the start we save 5 - 10 thousand frogs in 3 locations.

Just yesterday my mates saved 2000+ frogs on one day, and just today, I Picked up 100 of them with my elder daughter.  This is the peak of the migration!

Still there are lot of death traps for frogs all over the roads, so try to drive safely, or organize a frog rescue initiative at your hood. Frogs will thank you for that!

Spring is here, and the weather was just to perfect, So I decided to go for a photo walk instead of riding my bike, on my usual trail. I think it was worth it.

Ring Ouzel (Turdus torquatus HU: Örvös Rigó) which is pretty rare in Hungary, Shot at Gödöllő.

Saying pretty rare is quite an understatement. I could better say OMG Look at that bird!
