We are delighted to share with all our friends, colleagues and supporters, the highlights from the recent Official Somalisa Re-Opening Ceremony which took place in Hwange National Park on 8th January 2015.

We were privileged to share the experience with a number of delegates and VIPs including the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Dr Walter Mzembi and his wife, who officially opened the camps and have labelled Somalisa as “Home”.

Elephants are loved, revered and respected by people and cultures all around the world, yet their populations are under pressure due to habitat loss and human influence!
We at African Bush Camps are privileged enough to encounter them on an almost daily basis. In this video, the ellies of ‪#‎Somalisa‬ Camp in Hwange National Park in ‪#‎Zimbabwe‬ came for a closer camp inspection and an afternoon drink!
Tourism benefits the economy, provides needed jobs, deters poachers and abuse, and gives you the opportunity to experience the beauty, intelligence, and emotional capacity of these magnificent giants.
Happy World Elephant Day! Let's get involved and grow awareness about these gentle giants. For more info you can visit the World Elephant Day Website: http://bit.ly/1N9Sr2W

On World Lion Day, we pay tribute to our King of Hwange, Cecil. May his roar live on in our memories forever and be a catalyst for positive change to assist in protecting his kind into the future.
“I was not the Lion, but it fell to me to give the lion’s roar" - Winston Churchill
This exclusive footage was taken at Somalisa Camp earlier this year before he met his tragic end.
