Even though #SOPA and #PIPA appear to be dead now we can be pretty sure that the same wolf in different clothes will be back at our door soon. This is a nice explanation for why we need to stay vigilant.
We've had a lot of discussion about SOPA and PIPA recently, the bills that want to cripple the internet, but there are still plenty of people who aren't clear on the issues.

I was just listening to a video by a guy (I can't even remember his name) who, as a prank, called the White House to voice concern about NDAA. The video was deleted from my stream mid-way. The whole post is gone.

#NDAA is now law. It's not a hypothetical any more. People need to be aware, do research, and draw their own conclusions. As it is now, most Americans don't even know about this!

I understand your points. I also understand the issues with the provisions of this bill. However, the President did not add these provisions. Furthermore, the bill is 500 pages long and this is merely one part. I just think people are overreacting and placing blame on the wrong person. Lets not forget there are 3 branches of government. What should the President have done, not sign the bill? Imagine the headlines if he didn't sign. "President Obama does not care about the troops.." "Politics before security.." blah blah blah. I understand that there are people who simply will never like the President. However, on this particular issue he is not at fault. The people of the United States elected the individuals in Congress who signed off on these provisions since 2001. I believe certain members of congress put the useless "reaffirmation" in there as a political ploy. Sadly, some people have taken the bait.
