Searching for fun exercises for my programming course this fall and came across this sweet project from +Al Sweigart  the author of Invent with Python.  (It made the Reddit rounds in Dec when he wrote this post, but I didn't see it so apologies if this is old news).

It's the entire legend of Zelda map that you can walk around.  No monsters, rules etc., but a fun way to learn about constructing graphical interfaces, no?

See also inventwithpython.com, the source of many (all?) of the #python
games included with the #raspberrypi .
