Career Politicians on both sides of the aisle have gotten us to where we are now. An economy that is stagnant and with minimal growth, a foreign policy that is in shambles, and domestically we are more divided racially, economically, and ideologically than at any time since the civil rights era. Maybe folks are starting to realize it is time to put non politicians in charge for a bit.
The latest political happenings—the rise of Donald Trump, John Boehner’s surprise resignation as speaker of the House of Representatives, Hillary Clinton’s slide against the septuagenarian socialist Bernie Sanders—remind me of a verse from the old Rolling Stones song “Jigsaw Puzzle”:
Oh, there’s twenty-thousand grandmas.
Wave their hankies in the air.
All burning up their pensions
And shouting, “It’s not fair!”

I lived in Nawlins a number of years & have had gumbo with all sorts of variations. One thing they all had in common was being served over rice. At Bayou that was not the case, also Jalepenos are not typically used in Cajun cooking.
The soup was very tasty, but it was not the Gumbo I ordered.
