Chai Pani literally means “tea and water”. It’s slang in India for going out for a cup of tea, a tasty bite, a snack, or “a little something.” Chai Pani can also mean a small bribe just enough to get a bite to eat. Well at Chai Pani Decatur, you won’t have to bribe us for innovative, fun, affordable and delicious Indian cuisine.

Some of the most tasty, fun and affordable food of any country is it’s street food and Chai Pani features chaat – crunchy, spicy, sweet, tangy, brightly flavored Indian street snacks. And since there is nothing more comforting and delicious in any culture than a home cooked meal, Chai Pani also brings you thalis – traditional family meals highlighting India’s amazing culinary diversity.

Hop in a rickshaw, your home away from home awaits.

Restaurant literally takes you from Atlanta to Bombay . Great street food including pani puri, chaats, pav bhaji ,tea, rickey lime (which is essentially a fresh lime soda traditionally made in india) and not to mention the desserts. Best thing is that it is organic and MUCH healthier than the food you actually get on the streets in india which is 10x unhealthier. My usual stop in Atlanta when driving to Florida. Exceptional.

One of the best Indian food I've had in the US. Was initially introduced to chai pani restaurant in Ashville NC and just recently found this one in Atlanta. Highly recommended!

The somosa chat was good, but the thali was not good because you can easily make the food at home. It felt like eating a canned purée mixed with vegetables. Not authentic Indian food.

Amazing place for indian food. We had the minced lamb with pav and it was amazing. Will definitely go back again.

Expected a lot from this outfit but sadly I must say it is utterly mediocre. The thali was really really bad and I had to suffer thru massive indigestion and bloating all day. I must however say their fried okras were good notwithstanding the fact that they were just julienned and deep fried which is not rocket science. All said and done the fare is just very pedestrian and wished I had never gone.

A great experience for first time goers! The delicious Thalis (veg or non-veg) entrée is enough food for two people to enjoy together. The entrée consists of two soups, rice, seasonal side dishes and a dessert. I can't wait to order my new favorite entrée at Chai Pani on my next visit!
