I have been to le barin in paris, and it's the same thing, overhyped place, euro trash people, snobby and ok music, good for a back up plan

filled with overpriced drinks, no real new yorkers, poseurs and euro trash. I think I'll pass.

There was a magic time for NYC nightlife in the early augths, before the bottle-service model caught on and the mega clubs changed the price of entry from a fitting amount of swank to the right color credit card. I got a glimpse of that magic again in the basement here, through a curtain of fog, on the dance floor as the DJ spun obscure disco and the hip-as-hell crowd swayed to the beat.

Top 3 clubs in the city. One of the hardest doors around. If you are reading this review trying to find a name to get in...good luck!

Incredibly well designed and remarkably hip. The architecture and layout makes the place seem like a mansion, which makes the fact that it is actually a lounge/nightclub all the cooler. The French original and London venue are also great. Extremely interesting crowd from a variety of New York's corners, which makes it a fun place to meet new people... but then again, it's perhaps best with a friend or two for a relaxed and serene evening.

A seedy (and usually smoky) little club tucked away in Chinatown, Le Baron is known as an international hotspot. Average crowd on any given night will be largely foreign (mostly European) and impeccably well-dressed. Downstairs hosts some of the hottest House DJs you've ever heard, in addition to many you haven't. A great place to lose yourself to the music or pull that hottie away to a little corner where no one can find you...

"one of the few ""clubs"" in new york that gets it just right - the lighting, the music, the crowd. from the mix of velvet couches and weird eastern sculptures to the red lights and house music, this place hits on all cylinders."

You may get in, or you may not, just purely depends on the manager's mood. All the staff are extremely rude.
