I cannot understand the adverse comments that I have read in other reviews. We found the service to be excellent, even when we asked to move to another table, which involved moving the elaborate place settings, it was done quickly and with a smile. The food was excellent, mouth watering, and all home made, exactly what you would expect in a tea room. The decor was charming, if maybe a little over the top, but a good representation of what you would expect an olde worlde tea room to be like. We had been before, and will definitely be going again. Purchased Living Social deal. This restaurant stated they were full every Saturday and not open on Sundays for several months. Made a reservation a few months out and they cancelled. They did not call to reschedule. When I tried to call to reschedule they said they were full. I explained that I had been trying to use my voucher for several months and it was expiring next month. They said they were completely full. They were of no help, and now I do not know if I can get my money back that already paid! Avoid!

Went there today with my gal pal and had the Garden Tea. The service was very attentive without being intrusive, and the food and tea were very good. In fact, the scones were absolutely delicious! It is located in a quaint little house and all the food is freshly prepared. I have paid more money for tea in "fancier" places but must say I found this more enjoyable overall. I will definitely be going back.

Used a Groupon for Classic High Tea; initially unsure about the setting as we were seated so close to other diners, then that group left which gave us some room. If just 2 of you, ask for a window seat to give you some breathing room. We were squished against a wall, kind of in the walkway. Tea was good, scones were delicious, fruit was fresh, finger sandwiches were good, nothing outrageous, but good. One of the breads was really good, actually. Chocolate covered strawberries were good sized, and tasty. The young man server was prompt. Called everyone "girls", though he was the youngest in the place. Kind of cute of him. Strange bill at the end, with a 20% tip added, so since the groupon covered the whole meal, got a bill for the tip. Not sure it was worth a 20% tip on a limited service kind of meal, and felt like they didn't trust me to tip on the whole amount. I wouldn't have tipped 20%, honestly, but would have tipped 15%. A few bucks difference, not a huge deal, just an uncomfortable way to give a tip. I could guess they get stiffed on tips a lot. Cute place, beautiful china, nice change of pace. I like being left alone while dining, so I can talk to my friends, which is really the point of going out. So I liked just a check-in here and there, not constantly bugging us if we need anything.

It was difficult to get a reservation. Line was busy and could not leave a message. We arrived to a charming house with reasonable decor. After being told the place was full we were seated in a separate room for our tea. This was fine since we speak another language. The tea choices were very good. All courses arrive on a 3 tier platter. The scones were quite good. Fruit is fruit and the sandwiches were ordinary made on boring white or brown bread. Nothing special there. The bread was on the dry side making us think they were made the day before. It was OK but I would not return there for tea. We explored lovely historic Glendale and discovered and visited other places that merit a second visit.

I could make better food since it looked and tasted like Sam's Club food. Service was bad, food was horrible, will never go back. The highlight of my visit was the amusing toilet sign that informs customers that if they need to go poop, use a different bathroom. Too bad there wasn't a sign informing me that if I wanted good service then go somewhere else.

I called just days before Mother's day and was VERY excited about the fact that they were not only open on Mother's day but were running a special for Mother's day. I took my Mom and two little girls with me for a "proper" tea party. They were very accommodating, and we got to sit in the "Princess Room" which was all decked out for young guests. We had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and attentive with out being overbearing, and allowed us to take our time. Mom and I plan on returning. (I suggested Small Business Saturday, but she said she thinks we should visit sooner!) Lovely time, will return!

The owner treated us horribly. She refused to cancel a reservation the day of the event, which could not be helped, because it was due to my sister being called in to her hospital for an emergency. Sorry, they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Even if there is a medical emergency. Even if one of your party dies. I'm not kidding. The owner insisted on serving four people, even though we had called ahead to say we would only be three, due to the medical emergency. "That's our policy," the owner said. "What if someone had died? Would you have made them give you 24 hours cancellation notice?" I asked. She did not answer. I told her I would dispute the additional $25 charge with my credit card company. Whereupon, the owner said she would call the police on me right there and then, and would take me to court. I made a point of leaving the 4th portion, since we had only had three people. As I began to walk out, the owner said, "You might as well take the rest of the food -- What am I going to do with it?" I said nothing and kept walking. She then called after me (in the hearing of the other customers), "You probably do this for a living!" The server was sweet and except for the stale sandwiches, the food was marginally good. Don't waste your time or money. And God forbid you need to cancel for an unforeseen reason - you will have to pay anyway. Good thing you can dispute your credit card bill.
