Thoth Tarot Sighting
As a viewer of The X-Files, I somehow missed the framed reproduction of The Lovers hanging behind Agent Reyes in the numerology-themed episode "Improbable" (season 9, episode 13), which originally aired fifteen years ago today, on April 7, 2002.

Add to that the Thoth card hanging behind Mulder's tool-themed pinup calendar back in season 2's "3," and Crowley High in season 2's "Die Hand Die Verletzt," and I'm beginning to think Chris Carter (or someone on the production staff) was a fan!

Many thanks to Neil Pettijohn for the sighting. As always, the complete list of Thoth Sightings can be found at http://www.richard-kaczynski.com/index.php/home/academia/thoth-sightings/.

I'll be on Church of Mabus Radio this Friday evening talking about my novel The Billionth Monkey (and what is "reality" anyway?); Perdurabo himself: Aleister Crowley; and any other Forteana that Pritchett and McNichols decide to throw at me.

I'll be participating in the PCA/ACA conference in San Diego on Friday, April 14, 2017.

First will be a "Divination and Literature" presentation on how I use the Tarot (Thoth deck, of course!) as a device to lead and mis-lead readers of my novel The Billionth Monkey.

Then, for the "Divination Review" roundtable, I'll talk about the ways Tarot plays a role in Anna Biller's 2016 film The Love WItch.

The conference schedule was just posted this morning, so I'm excited to share the news.

Recalling that day in 1966 when a box full of Golden Dawn regalia from the 1930s washed up on the Chichester shore.

Many thanks to Mac's Backs-Books On Coventry in Cleveland Heights, OH, for including Perdurabo in its "Staff Picks" (lower right); it's always fun to see photos of one of my books in the wild.

If you've been waiting to pick up Forgotten Templars, now is the time! I'm having a Good Riddance to 2016 sale and knocking $16 off the price of the book (nearly 20% off!) through the end of December, or while supplies last. This is the first and only time I'll be able to discount this title.

As Aleister Crowley would say, it's “The Chance of the Year! The Chance of the Century!! The Chance of the Geologic Period!!!” ;)

My review of Anna Biller's The Love Witch, a gloriously retro celebration of Technicolor thrillers, erotic occultism, horror cinema, and the female gaze. In short, see it!

I'd like to point out that Space People of Walmart and Wikibard were peddling fake news before it was cool.
