This is by far my favorite feature of +Emu  (and one of the more subtle one): if someone texts you while you're driving, Emu will automatically let the sender know that you're driving - perfect for teenage drivers :)
Admit it: you text while driving. Everyone knows they shouldn’t; everyone does anyway. Why? Our devices are like five-year-olds. They’re great at notifying you when they need something (“Dad! Dad! ...

The essence of Emu's UX challenge: so much information, so little space - read about the journey of designing a highly efficient, intelligent mobile chat experience: https://medium.com/p/c5b161ed2b69
In 2012, I missed a meeting. The founder of a well-known tech company had emailed me, asking to meet up. We’d picked a t…

The best way to get the honey-do list done is to use Emu to remind you of important messages at the right moment :) use invite code blind.bat at http://emu.is/dlg #reminder   #honeydolist

+Robert Scoble and I discuss Emu and the magic of smart chat!

Can Emu get you to switch SMS messaging apps?

Gummi Hafsteinsson, CEO of Emu, shows me a new kind of messaging system: one that uses your context and language to show you options as you type to your friends. Ask "should we see a movie tonight?" and it'll put movie times, for instance, right into your messaging stream. It's an interesting idea, albeit one that I wish had been taken a lot further already. It got me to think, though, is this enough to get you to switch away from the messaging apps you currently are using? http://emu.is/ is where you'll find it. Android only for now.

+Jói Sigurðsson thanks - now you just have to invest in a small company or two that want to do OT and movies in Iceland, and then we can integrate them - should only take 2-8 years :)

A perfectly timed ambush, thanks to Emu's proximity notification!

When I got to work yesterday, I was attacked. Upon entering the office, I was greeted by a merciless barrage of Nerf bullets from my co-founder, hiding safely behind a desk. How long had he been ly...

Good food in a nice neighborhood, however, the service is terrible. The waiter demanded we add 15% to the bill on our credit card, and got really annoyed when we informed him it was up to us how much, if any tip we would leave for him. By French law all restaurant bills already include 15% service charge, so he was trying to double charge us by assuming we were ignorant of local customs and regulations. Obviously he got no tip from us after this treatment - and when he noticed he yelled after us in the street. Too bad for the restaurant to have staff like this since we would otherwise have come back again.

Great casual (although on the expensive side for casual) dinner place - try their gyro pita, it's fantastic!

Great food, great service, the only downside is that it's probably over-priced for what you get. Still worth going there if you want to go for a nice dinner in Los Gatos.
