When I get paid, I'll be getting one of these. I could use a brain.

+Arthur Levesque , are you volunteering to run Cthulhu in power armor vs. +Andrew Semprebon's undead golem volcano?

I need help.  I have a cat that I can't keep.  Would anyone like a loveable, neutered, declawed male cat who is about 9 years old?  This is Nibbler, and his health is good...but not everyone can breathe around him.  Help?

Nibbler is declawed, neutered, and scratches up nothing. He's
litter-trained. He got his name because he bites, but he seems to only
bite me. Karen and the kids are safe, and I'm sure Q and Richard know that
taunting animals with teeth can lead to bites should they choose to taunt
him. That being said, he never breaks skin when he bites. Perhaps I
simply have good taste?

He's middle-aged for a cat, which means that he's not likely to spend time
running around like crazy unless you give him catnip. He's playful - if
you have string or a laser pointer, he'll be happy to be interactive. He's
not cuddly at night in bed (I don't know why, but perhaps it has to do with
our older cat being in the bed all night) but if anyone's in bed during the
day or with a blanket on their lap on the sofa, he'll often come along and
cuddle...the blanket. He's the single quietest cat I've ever owned - if he
hadn't already named himself one way, he would have been "Stealth" or
"Fang" (his canines stick out a little from his jowls). He does purr and
meow, but you have to listen close to hear most of the time. He's also
stealth-colored (black with a little white) and so hard to see in the dark.

When we got him, he was a teeny kitten, too young to really be away from
his mother. I know that he's good with our older cat, but if we didn't
keep the lid on the tank our frog would be a snack. I bought him a bed
that has always been his alone, and he spends a lot of his time there. You
will find that if the house is colder than he likes, he'll dig himself
under the blankets on the bed and cocoon himself. I haven't asked Steve
Gutenberg if this means he's an alien. He's not especially afraid of
water, so if you discover him doing something you don't like, it's not a
very good training tool. I've never been able to convince him, for
example, that the dining room table is for people. He only comes to the
table, though, when the number of people is low; he doesn't interrupt meals
because he doesn't

Apparently, if you have enough caffeine, you can travel back in time to
when coffee was cheap. Either that, or when they said "pennies" they meant
"nickels" or "dimes"...

Crazy-detailed wooden playgrounds around the globe give kids a taste for the surreal:

Arthur - while the story you posted about the guy's treehouse does seem ridiculous, I don't think it would apply to why we would see the cool playground Seth posted originally. Also, I love that the treehouse guy has a great attitude about it. He's not arguing about the zoning codes, he's just frustrated by the process.

I figured you were posting something about the crazy safety restrictions on playgrounds that have made most modern playgrounds no fun to play on.

We also prefer the word "and" over the word "or" little guy.

I can't say it better than Craig did.

For me, LEGOs have always been about the universal building kits -- all of the specialized/themed kits miss the point: if you give someone a Millenium Falcon kit, then they're going to assemble it once, and that's it. They may play with it as a SF/Adventure toy after that, but they're never going to disassemble it and build something else with it.

The universal building kits have no value judgements, no gender, and no right-or-wrong way to build -- they are just parts, waiting for someone's imagination to turn them into something interesting. It's OK to give kids pictures for inspiration, but giving them blueprints and assembly instructions doesn't promote creativity -- it just turns them into assembly line workers.

There is nothing wrong with pink as a color, but there's nothing special about it either. As a society (and only relatively recently) 'blue' and 'pink' have turned into color-codes for what is 'gender acceptable' and that's not needed -- kids are smart enough to figure out for themselves what they want to play with; Adults don't need to interfere.
