Hello Eilidh.

I have just come across here to your website after reading a poem of yours on the FTP magazines website......it was very pertinent to my life now and well..it was just damned good.

Coincidentally I have just started reading Lewis Grassic Gibbon......I've been finding the ‘Scots’ idiom (not sure if I am using the right term here?) anyway been finding it a bit hard going BUT following your review here - I think its because it was written a good few years ago and so it is somewhat ‘dated’ …….but anyway I will persevere. I have previously read some ‘Scots’ novels by contemporary writers as well as some written without the Scots idiom or however you phrase it?). Unfortunately I can’t remember their names other than the more well known people like Jackie Kay etc

Anyway I enjoyed your poetry very much
I imagine it isn’t easy being a poet in the world we live in now……….being a visual (fine) artist who uses printmaking ………gives me somewhat of an idea of how it might be.

Keep up the good work.

Phillip..I've been using similar materials today.  Do you have pastel ground  ?  Use it at different strengths to get variations of tone .  I have written about it on my blog with a collagraph that looks a bit like a triptych panel painting.
too tired now to look but its in the past 3 years  I think it was in the autumn time.

Hi Phillip
this application of an acrylic hard ground layer is a  conundrum  I've experienced - I'm thinking next time I need to apply it to a plate that I shall use a squeegee to get a nice smooth layer.  If it's a small plate I can use a car screen cleaner (that you use to scrape ice off on winter mornings).  Always enjoy reading your blog posts.  best wishes
