We love hearing about promising cancer research and reading inspiring stories of people living and thriving after a cancer diagnosis thanks to research from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)! Check out their 2014 progress report. When we stand together, cancer doesn't stand a chance! http://cancerprogressreport.org/2014/Documents/AACR_CPR_2014.pdf

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know that Prostate Cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in America, affecting 1 in 7 men? The good news is, it’s 100% treatable if it’s detected early. Head on over to Prostate Cancer Foundation’s website www.manhoodforgood.org to learn more from medical doctor and prostate cancer survivor: Dr. Drew.

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness month, we stand with Nicholas from Milton, Ontario. Nicholas began his battle with a rare kidney cancer at 22 months. Now, 5-years-old, he’s celebrating two years cancer-free! His mom, Stephanie, says he teaches their family something new everyday. “We are lucky to have such a fighter in our lives, who shows us his bravery and strength in everything he does!” Let us know who you stand up for: http://istandupfor.su2c.org/

Stand Up To Cancer is thrilled to announce we are moving ahead with our Ovarian Cancer Dream Team at lightning speed. After announcing our collaboration with the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund OCRF, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, and National Ovarian Cancer Coalition just two weeks ago, we are already putting a call for ideas out to the science community. We are looking for the most creative scientific minds, brightest scientists and cutting-edge research to create a powerhouse collaborative, multi-institutional, multi-discliplinary dream team that will help ovarian cancer patients quickly.

Thank you to the million hands across North America who touched the Siemens SU2C Baton or passed the Baton on Facebook and helped to make The Baton Pass ™ a powerful and successful community campaign, raising awareness and $1 million to support innovative, collaborative research. Thank you Siemens for this wondrous device that not only tracked its location and counted passes, but that lit up faces, engaged patients and their loved ones, clinicians, researchers, health care providers and citizens in the United States and Canada, and gave hope to all that we will find the answers to conquer cancer.
