Just came back from a ten-day camping/hiking vacation with a couple of friends. We decided to ban all electric devices on that trip and was really surprised how much I missed my computers the first couple of days. It kinda felt like an important part of me was missing - makes you think about how we take really awesome things for granted nowadays. I probably missed my music collection the most - it is nothing short of miracle being able to carry around hundreds of hours of music and listen to the songs you like whenever you feel like it.

+John Xionidis created new logos for my applications with a new modern take on the Aperture design which will help to distinguish the different apps on the home screen. He also made a new G+ avatar for me.

I love the new design. How do you like it?

That dreadful word 'kang' should be entirely banned from the Android community. Using it to describe another person's contribution is the complete antithesis of the free software idea which in its core is that other people are allowed to take your code and modify and redistribute it.

Nowadays one cannot read a single thread in forums like XDA or RW anymore without some user (!) screaming that dev X 'kanged' something from dev Y and starting to toss around accusations and insults.

If we as a community create a climate in which devs are afraid of using the work of other developers we not only damage our own community but also the spirit of free and open source software development.

Next time you see yourself using the word 'kang' try to substitute it with a more precise term like 'used dev X code in a way the Y license allows' or 'used the same idea which dev X used before' and you might see yourself that that complaint you were just writing is actually not an issue at all.

+C. Anthony Esposito II ok I see know you must not understand bow cherry picking works. If you do a cherry pick the correct way it maintains the authorship of the commit so when you push it to a repo it shows the original author, or the origin of the commit. Now if you just manually add the commit, which there are reasons sometimes for this to be done, then you should give the name of the author, their email, and where the commit was in your commit message. But unfortunately not everyone does that. But I made my statement about cherry picking cause if you make a true cherry pick via terminal using git then authorship is maintained. Therefore cherry picking is not kanging.

Got some great news for you guys today!

The last two weeks I spend most of my free time working of the eXperience Pro app and today I have released the huge update V1.15 with some significant improvements:

* For the CPU Control module I have added the ability to add and remove CPU frequency steps on-the-fly during runtime. Combined with the previously implemented ability to adjust the voltages for the different CPU frequency steps the CPU Control module now offers a complete overclocking and undervolting solution for Krait processors with greater flexibility than any solution based on custom kernels available. As always this tweak works across different devices and independent of the running kernel including the stock kernel. This is a world first I think.

* Added the new CPUfreq Control module for all devices supported by the app which allows adjustment of the minimum and maximum frequency steps.

* Added support for the CPU Control and Volume Control modules for the US variants of the Galaxy SIII (d2tmo, d2spr, d2vzw, d2usc and d2att).

* Added support for the Xperia V (LT25i), Optimus G Pro (LG-F240S), Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5100), Xperia Z C6602 and SO-02E, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (GT-P6200), One V CDMA (primoc), Optimus LGL86C and Xperia ZL C6502 and C6503. I stopped counting but the number of devices supported by the app must be around 60 different hardware models now.

A big thanks to +Rhys Thomas, +Francisco Franco and +semeon korsunsky for persistence and patience when testing these new improvements. I could not have done it without your help!

+Alexey Froloff Thinkpad X1 Carbon. Pretty ok device. Keyboard is significantly worse than on my X301, but the display is much brighter and has better contrast and viewing angles. With the much better CPU and GPU I am quite satisfied with the tradeoff.
