In a brilliant presentation by Facebook's Paul Saab at the recent v6 World Congress in Paris, he outlined how Facebook is well on the path toward moving to an IPv6-only internal network. He makes t...

It's appalling the number of high end infrastructure vendors who are selling equipment which claims to be ipv6 ready but isn't.

True ! BUT NTT solution isn't a commercially available Reference Design Kit that others customers and partners can build IPTV solution upon.

Deploying IPv6 is only way to limit the harm caused by CGN . Ask your ISP what is plan is (per Vint Cerf call for action) , and deploy yourslef everywere you can.

Congratulations to my Belgian friends (and I have many). Just for the record, the slight differences in the % of IPv6 users per country provided in this article (fm APNIC) and the ones displayed by Google (which we use in http://6lab.cisco.com) comes from the test methodology used by APNIC which (contrary to Google) does not include mobile users.

We're working on the mobiles thing. the javascript (js) measure does get there, but because we get a lot of repeats and the v6 privacy address comes to play, we over count in JS for many economies.

Bis! a tous mes amis belgique pour adopter l'avenir (or something. my french is rusty)

Alain Fiocco originally shared:

"If NATs opened Pandora's box CGN unleashed the dogs of hell" as Dave Piscitello puts it. This piece very clearly outlined the challenges posed by broad use of CGN. Deployment of IPv6 is only way to restore the end to end Internet Architecture that doesn't interfere with applications and doesn't negatively affect Net neutrality.

CGN will be major problem for everyone who's not only using web browser and mail client. On the other hand, if CGN nat is wide spread, and there's no proper IPv6 connectivity, it might kill all kind of peer to peer solutions quite efficiently. Sad thing for WebRTC.
