There was a special election in the Illinois 18th Congressional (formerly represented by Aaron Schock) on September 10.  There are some interesting statistics. At last FEC report,Darin LaHood raised $36.78 per vote, Rob Mellon $1.42 per vote.This is only of last report. All fundraising may not yet be reported. LaHood got only 2.2 times more votes, despite almost 26 times (25.9) more money

Against big money in politics?  The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform is hosting a forum on February 17 which will be attended by mayoral candidates and candidates for alderman.  The topic will be the campaign finance reform model of small donor matches.  Details here
