I went there twice only to find out that the movie I wanted to watch was not playing because of technical difficulties.

I wanted to like the Lincoln Theater in Kearny, as I like supporting local theaters that play older movies -- especially if they're a good mix of old & new. The facilities are fine -- seats are old, but seem to mostly be fine, concessions are reasonably priced (compared to a big theater), and the bathrooms are well-kept. We sat down to see a movie and almost immediately, we noticed the audio was warbly. It sounded like the left & right were slightly out of sync, giving the sound a warbly sound. Thankfully the movie we watched was light on dialog, but music sounded terrible and some of the more emotional parts were hilarious due to the warbly audio. Someone got up to notify the attendants as soon as the picture started, but they either didn't care or couldn't fix it. At least they made sure the picture was in focus. I wanted to like it and the place has potential, but I will not risk seeing a movie here again.

The floors are sticky and the popcorn is stale, but it's a great bargain. Cheapest place around.

Went there because they were one of the few places showing a movie I wanted to see. They only accepted CASH (really? On a Saturday night in 2011??). Got into the actual theater which smelled horribly like moldy carpet and stale popcorn. It was cold in the theater and a few of the ceiling tiles were missing, so there was a draft that kept me bundled up the entire time. Picture on screen was horrible; spots on the screen the entire time. It's no wonder there were only, like, 6 other people in there with us. Will NEVER go there again!
