Let's face it - prom dresses can be expensive and you only wear them once! What if I told you that you could rent a DESIGNER dress for a fraction of the cost? Rent the Runway has a whole section of dresses just for prom, starting as low as $40! You HAVE to check them out --> http://ow.ly/sqsm3094kZz

I love it when my couples are up for an adventure! Last week we were driving through the mountains in search of a snowy location. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful scenery along the way, found a small pull off, climbed down the embankment and did some gorgeous photos by the water. I've always wanted to do this and so glad I found a couple that was up for it! :)

Wedding days are very hectic, especially for the couple. One of my favorite things to do with my couples is steal them away for a few minutes of much needed alone time. Often times I ask them to do a little slow dancing because it helps them be in the moment, enjoy the quiet, and forget about the hustle and bustle of the day. These are usually my favorite images because they are so relaxed and focused on each other. For this image I asked Scott to dip Kelsey back and give her a little smooch and he nailed it!

Today I'm putting the finishing touches on Kelsey & Scott's beautiful wedding day. I can't wait to deliver the images to them - so many great details and wonderful moments throughout their day. And can I just say that I'm IN LOVE with her ring? So gorgeous!

Friends and friendships are a huge part of being a high school senior. Often times this is the last year you and your bestie will be in the same place, going through everything together. So I love it when my seniors bring their friends along for the session. I always try to include them in a few photos to commemorate the special occasion, but also because it's a lot of fun!

Meet Taylor! She's a current high school senior at Stillwater High School in Minnesota. Her favorite sport is hockey and she's a member of the U19 hockey team. On weekends she can be found working her part time job at the local Herberger or hanging out with her friends. Taylor classifies her fashion style as "anything and everything" but her favorite place to shop is PacSun. I was so excited when Taylor's mom contacted me to do her senior photos. It just so happened that I was planning a trip to Minnesota, and the timing worked out perfect. Not everyone knows, but I actually started my business in downtown Stillwater. I love shooting there whenever I get the chance. Ironically enough, this alley where I took this photo of Taylor was right around the corner from my very first studio. Talk about a trip down memory lane! <3

Meet Dakota! A senior at CGDHS in Iowa. He's active in cross country, wrestling, science club, band and jazz band. During high school, one of his biggest accomplishments has been being a part of back to back wrestling dual champs. On the weekends you can find him hanging with his girlfriend or watching episodes of his favorite show, Supernatural. One of the things that stood out to me the most about Dakota is his love for life and his love for making other people laugh. He has such a big personality that you can't help but be in a great mood around him. I laughed so much during his session - it was so much fun!

This past month has been AMAZING! I took a trip back to the midwest for 3 weeks full of shoots and I've been editing the gorgeous images ever since! Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year, especially in the midwest where you get the full scope of colors from greens and yellows, to oranges and reds. I also love all the textures fall brings - tall golden grasses and fallen leaves covering the ground. A lot of my seniors opt to do two sessions each year - one in the summer and then one in either the fall or the winter so they can have two different looks to their senior photos. Maci opted to do her second session in the fall and I just love how they turned out! This one is my favorites from her fall session - love the texture and color of the tall grass against her dark complexion.
