One of my friends slept in a cardboard box overnight to raise money for and awareness of Britain's homeless. Please take a moment to leave a donation, however small. It all helps :-) #charity #Stay #donation #homeless

Right now I'm attempting to move all my travel and blogging related shares over to my Google business page which I've recently set up.  The reason for this move is that I can use Buffer to share posts to a Google+ business page, whereas I can't to a personal page, which means I'll be posting to my business page A LOT more (kinda got neglected beforehand in favour of Twitter and Facebook).  So for all of you who are following me on here, I'd really appreciate it if you could do the same on my business page.  The link is below.  Many thanks :-)

*NEW POST* This week it's about the trip we made out to the ruins of the ancient #Wari civilisation, just 22km from #Ayacucho. There's even a sneaky bit of video footage in today's post, as well as a stupid amount of #cacti

The lovely Emily Luxton at Backpack South America liked my first guest post, about trekking the Inca Trail, enough to invite me to write a second!

When I travel, as well as incorporating many of the sites and destinations that are on many people's lists (there's a reason why they're popular) into my itinerary, I also like to explore some lesser-visited towns and cities, because I love the experience of photographing somewhere that’s rarely visited by other tourists or written about by other travel bloggers.

Here are 6 of my favourite places to get off the beaten track in ‪#‎Peru‬. Are there any you would add to the list?

#Ayacucho. Probably the most isolated city in #Peru, but also one of the most beautiful :-)

If you have a travel hit list (and, let's be honest, who hasn't?) then there's a good chance that - if you haven't been lucky enough to tick it off already - hiking the Inca Trail will be featured on it somewhere. Machu Picchu is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, and the experience of trekking along ancient trails laid by the Incas, in order to get there, is one of the most sought after in Peru - possibly even in South America. Here's my detailed guide (which I've written as a guest post on the fantastic Backpack South America site) to hiking this infamous path - from the best time of year to go, to how to choose your trekking company, what to pack, and much, much more! Let me know what you think :-)
