I come the the Morsani center for my Family Medicine Doctor and my Physical Therapist. My experience has been that the PT department is very good here. I have found Family Medicine and Neurosurgery to be very difficult to get an appointment. The facility is nice and clean, but sometimes I wonder if they're too big and complex. The pre-check in, followed by the check in seems unnecessary to me. The staff has been amazing all of the times I have come by.

If you are late don't bother calling them it will take the whole car ride to get through to someone. Calling them is so unorganized. It's so hard to get ahold of any doctor here and my daughter has plenty of doctors here. I moved from St Pete to Tampa and now use usf health im about to just do the drive over Howard Franklin and start going back to all children's no matter how far it is. I've been on hold right now for 20 min just to tell them one simple thing.

As horrible as is sounds, unless you are on death row or harass the staff so that they know who you are - you fall into the "just another number" category. You are not a person - you are a number. Unless you are an interesting case - you're just overlooked. The wait time for appts is outrageous and the Dr's have the ability to cancel/reschedule just days before. Also - Each 'Department' has it's own way of doing things and unfortunately, they don't seem to communicate very well with each other.

I have never written a medical review and would not have started with this one if I had not just had the worst possible medical service. I am not talking about the doctor or the PA both seemed to be well qualified and I have no complaints. The breakdown to poor patient relations starts and stops with the "office nurse" that one must call to try and reach the doctor or PA when there is a problem. It turns out that I am allergic to the antibiotics I was given when released after septoplasty surgery. i called the office number and the only option was to leave a message for 'the nurse'.Never heard from anyone on this. I went to emergency room where I live which is 60 miles from USF. I have left numerous voice messages for the nurse to call or have the doctor return the call. The nurse just ignores the messages. i need to know what pain medications were used in surgery and the first pain medicine that was sent home to me so my new doctors in Sebring dont't end up giving me again. The severe yeast infection I got from the pain meds is now under control, but I still have a sinus infection since septoplasty. I won't be coming back to this place. They were highly recommended by my chest doctor I will tell him about my experience and Iask him to please find out what pain meds were used so that info can go in my charts.

Very disappointing experiences. Despite having doctors under the same USF umbrella, their records systems seem to be separate and don't talk to each other, making it frustrating to have to answer the same questions and fill out the same paperwork. I saw Dr. Mattingly back in mid-December and did a battery of testing for about 3.5 hours. I was released afterward without being told what the next steps were and was too exhausted after the neuro testing for that to cross my mind. A few weeks later when I called, I was told my records would be mailed to me. About 6 weeks later I called since I still hadn't received them and was told I had to fill out a medical records release form to get them mailed to me. 4 weeks after sending those forms in I still haven't received my records. I've not made a decision on the quality of the doctors, but the patient experience from an administrative standpoint is a nightmare.

Absolutely the worst doctor's office experience I have ever had in my life. The other reviewers are correct - it is impossible to get in touch with your doctor or nurse at Morsani and the messages you leave with the call center don't make it to anyone most of the time, and when they do the nurse *might* call you back. You have to call constantly and stay on top of them to hear results of anything. And I was given wrong info pertaining to my blood test results by a call center person who was incredibly rude, and when I contacted the office manager about it she never even responded to me! Currently on the second time of waiting more than two weeks for blood test results (which the lab on campus told me would be available in 3-5 days from when the blood was drawn and are available electronically at Morsani as soon as the lab gets them)... They're just awful It's great to go to an academic health center since they're most likely up on the most current treatments, etc. but if the office is this inept it defeats the whole purpose. I have absolutely no confidence that my health is in good hands. As soon as I get my results I am promptly taking them to a different doctor and never returning to this fiasco.
