Best Asian food in Austin? Probably. Everything is delicious, except the fish broth pho, which is good but lacks depth. The execution is at or always close to perfection. The wine list is also nice and they do a good job of cocktails without liquor. So why not 5 stars? Besides the fish broth pho, the execution at breakfast/brunch is not as hot as lunch/dinner, most notably the eggs, which are overcooked more often than not. But they do make the best croissants in Austin, and their granola and fruit is the bomb. In summary, they probably deserve 5 stars, but I like eggs and I like the lightly cooked. Despite this, they're still in my top 10 Austin restaurants. A couple things to note: this is not traditional Vietnamese food, nor is it cheap. Go to Pho Saigon if you want that--it's really good. Second, the Singapore noodles are the closest to Honk Kong style food I've had in a long time. If you grew up eating that kind of food, you'll probably love these. They're not the best ever, but they're solid.

Elizabeth Street Cafe is an adorable little restaurant that shares a parking lot with the amazing Gordough's. While I wouldn't go here for very traditional Vietnamese cuisine, the food was an excellent fusion of Vietnamese, French and American. The eggrolls were very tasty and the Grilled Marinated Pork BÁNH MÌ I had was wonderful. I think they really excel at their French pastries and desserts. We had a small variety and my favourite, by far, was their macarons which are only made with natural ingredients. I'd definitely go back. And I did! We sat down for brunch at Elizabeth Street Cafe yesterday. I was intrigued with their breakfast Bahn Mi. I had mine with pork belly and it was just divine! My husband had the Singapore Noodles with a poached egg and he was not disappointed. It was a mild day and we sat outside with friends for a very enjoyable start to the day.

Tried Elizabeth Street for lunch. Service was great and we were lucky to snag a table outside. Parking is very tough and you'll find yourself locating street parking and walking. Save room for dessert... it's amazing.

Upscale Vietnamese cuisine? That is some kind of oxymoron. I used to frown upon this concept. The breakfast bánh mì changed my mind. 10 bucks? It is worth every penny. The sandwich comes stuffed with jalapeño fried eggs, crispy pork belly, avocado, mint, house-made mayo, sambal, and cilantro. A mouthful for sure. A tasty one that is.

For those of you that don't remember, Elizabeth Street Cafe now sits on what used to be the old Bouldin Creek Cafe. When it first opened I was very excited just based on the food alone. After a few visits I can definitely say that the food has always been great and the atmosphere was great as well. The very first thing you will notice is that parking is going to be an issue, especially if you go during the busy times of the day. You will more than likely have to find parking along the neighborhoods and hopefully don't have to dash across S 1st. Although the food is pretty good it's also pricey. When I compare it to other places that make fantastic pho and banh mi I can't justify too many outings here despite it's positives.

Fantastic ambiance and terrific food. I would agree w many other reviewers - while the food is good, it's also a bit pricey for what you're getting compared to what you could get elsewhere but you're paying for the trendy-factor and the fact that it's more of a "scene-y" spot.

Elizabeth Street Cafe provided a really cute experience. My friend and I came on a whim on a chilly Saturday night and were served delicious, hot pho. I got the spicy meatball pho and it was perfect. The meatballs were spicy and the broth was flavorful. Also tried the dumplings, also delicious but they were $12 which I thought was a bit pricey for 6 dumplings. The ambiance was great, service was quick and friendly and this is definitely a date spot. Also had to wait 30 minutes for a table but it was Saturday night so it was expected.
